October 21, 200520 yr Hello Aerofox, I have the Nvidia 6800GT AGP card and run 71.89 drivers because everything else newer gives me nothing more than a black screen. I wish I knew why that is? Anyway, one thing I always do after a new driver install, is to rebuild my FS9CFG file. Of course back up the original first. Also I don't see why the drivers would cause a scenery problem like this. I am very good with computers, but I could be way off here. Holger visits here at AVSIM often, and hopefully he sees your post. He is like the guru of scenery design from what I have seen and read. I was going to try the new drivers, but I may wait now. Did you try to go back to the older ones to see if this problem disappears? Also, did you do anything else at the time you installed the new drivers? I hope you get things worked out. Let me know. Best regards, Jeff
October 21, 200520 yr Thanks Jeff I still havent find solution for my problemhope will get solved soon
October 22, 200520 yr I also get similar issues up to CTD's with all the latest drivers. I stay now with 77.77 with good and stable results.Regards, Sam
October 22, 200520 yr @ AerofoxThat's not a driver issue, that's a mesh problem, I think. YOu say a clean install of FS2004. Did you also install the patch? Because it looks like you have the TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21in your FS9.cfg whic is only useabl after you've applied the patch.@SamClassic case of not proerly uninstalling old drivers. See previous posts in this foum how to uninstall Nvidia drivers properly. Search on Driver Cleaner.Allcott

October 23, 200520 yr > Today i installed official Nvidia Version: 81.85>WHQL Certified driver. And have problem like this below,>>>I have clean install of FS2004>and Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX videocard>>>Please help>>I have the exact same issue. new & clean install of FS9 incl patch, Nvdia drivers 81.85 and 7800GTX videocard. The above happens anywhere in the (FS)world, seems like the tiles & textures are all mixed up and keep changing. One time the suns was actually replaced by 4 halos...Also, road & lakes appear & disappear randomly.Anyone found any solution to this yet ? (apart from re-installing older drivers)
October 23, 200520 yr I just installed the latest driver from the Nvidia web site this morning. The result, severe flickering on the startup screen followed by at least a half dozen crashes of FS9 in the first 45 minutes. Rolled back to my original drivers and also had to run system restore to get back to where I was before installing the drivers, and everything is OK again.......No more new drivers for me....
October 23, 200520 yr I am having no love with the 81.84 or 81.85 and FS. Neither of these driver sets seem to like the 3 monitor dual 7800 setup. I keep locking up every time I alt-enter drag my windows and alt-enter again. I tried the 81.85 from Tweaks r us so I will run DC3 again and try the WHQL 81.85 and see if I have any love. Yep,Definitely the drivers. I went back to the XG 77.77 and alt-enter'd dragged my windows to screens 2 and 3, went full screen again and no issues at all. Something about those 81.84 and 81.85 do not play well with the dual card setup and FS...-PaulSelf BuiltLiquid CooledAMD 64 4000+ @ 26402 Gigs Corsair XMS CL2Dual 7800 GTX OC 515/1325Dell 2405 24 inch Widescreen LCDDual Samsung 930B 19 inch LCD'sDual SATA Maxtor 120 gig Raid-0SB Audigy 2 ZSSelf BuiltAMD 64 3400+2 Gigs Kingston HyperX DDR4006800GTRaid-0 Dual SATA Maxtor 120 Gig Hd'sDual Samsung 997 DF monitors Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
October 24, 200520 yr i have exactly the same problems with the 81.85 drivers and a 7800GTX.Fragments of textures are 'swimming' in the water, just like we see on your screenshots.I went back to 78.01, and all is well again...There is definately something wrong with the 81.85 drivers.Cheers,Michael
October 24, 200520 yr Commercial Member The only solution right now is to roll back to a 7x.xx series driver unfortunately - Nvidia is aware of the problem now, hopefully the next 8x.xx beta will fix it... October 24, 200520 yr Hello,I "fly" the XG 81.85 with success Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
October 24, 200520 yr Right! I absolutely agree and stay with the 77.77 with my dual screens. It doesn't make sense to loose time experimenting and hunt for workarounds.Rgds, Sam
October 25, 200520 yr I switched to the new drivers this morning, running the BFG 7800GTX OC and I didn't notice any problems with the the textures appearing oddly... I only did a quick check though, was more conscenred with the ever present AA problem that drives me nuts. I'll give it a more throurogh check later... is there anywhere in particular that the texture problem is appearing?
October 25, 200520 yr How do you know NVidia is aware of the problem now?I'm a beta tester for MS FS (at least for whenever the next version comes around) and we (at least as far as anyone I know) have no contact within NVidia's driver development group. For all the trouble they cause us, they seem to be completely unaccessible. I am able to run three monitors successfully with 78.01, but can't get 81.85 to run. Note that prior to running FS with a new driver, I test all three monitors fully with DXDIAG. If they won't pass the DX9 test(s) that way, they won't run FS correctly, either.I'm open to suggestions - -------MSI-6758 3.2G P4, Windows XP Home SP21G physical RAM (Kingston HyperX)80GB SATA HD, 16X DVDXFX 5700 PCI, XFX 6800 AGP3 ViewSonic VP191b connected to the three DVI outputs providedCHP FlightSim Yoke, ProPedals, Throttle QuadrantSee pic attached for arrangement
