January 15, 200620 yr I recently bought a new Nvidea GForce 256MB card for the upcomming race as my old card was starting to fail and become unstable when used for FS. Unfortunatly after installing it FS9 started acting really strange, the 3d cloud textures looked very bad and pixelated no matter what I did to the settings and now no matter how I have the display settings I can't get better then 1FPS display.I checked my drivers (came with the latest already) and I know nothing is running in the background. virus and Spyware scans are all clean so does anyone have any idea what might be going on?Thanks
January 15, 200620 yr Did you let FS9 rebuild the cfg file? This may be your problem. If you need help finding it, let us know. Someone or myself can help you out. Good luck. Best regards, Jeff

Watch out, however, as this will delete any custom settings that you've set up. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
January 15, 200620 yr If you have custom settings in your FS9.cfg file, then don't delete it, just rename it. This way you can always go back and copy some of the setting over into the newly rebuilt fs9.cfg file.
January 15, 200620 yr oops! Thanks for pointing that out Mike, a very good tip indeed. I've done just that...deleted the darn cfg file before saving its contents. Best regards, Jeff
January 16, 200620 yr I deleted the fs9.cfg file and it did reset everything, However this has not solved my frame rate issues.I hate to do this but i'm just going to try and uninstall and reinstall it from scratch.
January 16, 200620 yr What card were you using before Nvidea? Were you using ATI? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 16, 200620 yr Yes I was,I followed the manufacutuers directions EXACTLY. I uninstalled the ATI drivers, shut down, swapped cards, started up and loaded the NVIDIA drivers. Is there somethign I can do to fix this short of a compleate wipe and reload of the whole system?
January 16, 200620 yr Did you use Driver Cleaner Pro before installing new drivers. Also many times, different drivers work differently on different systems. You might want to try a different driver. I think the latest, which I have had good luck with is 81.98http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.98.htmlhttp://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninsta...fessional.shtmlAlways save reinstalling FS9 as a very last resort. It's like trying to cure a headache with a brain transplant.
January 16, 200620 yr No go with the cleaner... Any other ideas? If I don't hear something soon I think i'm gona cave in and reformat. I have GOT to have this ready for the race.
