April 22, 200620 yr I have a xfx 7800GT 256mb and I have absolutely nothing to complain about it given I never overclock my vcard. First of all, isn't 7800GT pretty much off the market right now? You go to places like newegg and tigerdirect and they are pretty much gone. 7900GT has replaced it. However when I was picking my 7800GT, EVGA was the most popular and they had more than one 7800GTs with different freq. XFX wasn't the fastest by over all it had the best reviews on newegg. The problem with EVGA is that more people got defective cards than other brand. BFG didn't have nearly as many sales as those two brands so I didn't consider it at all.Anyway I replaced my 6600GT with xfx 7800GT on a AMD64 3200+ system. This upgrade didn't give me night and day difference but it was still a solid upgrade.Hope this helps.Jason JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI

April 22, 200620 yr I should have put my system specs in:P4 3.4ghzATI 9200 w 256mb (current)1 GB MemYes I would need the AGP card.
April 23, 200620 yr >I should have put my system specs in:>P4 3.4ghz>ATI 9200 w 256mb (current)>1 GB Mem>>Yes I would need the AGP card. Then just wait a bit, in less than month or two, you will see 7900GT chiped cards bridged to AGP for $300, or you can get one now (yes the 7900 just announced this week)from Gainward but for mucho $$$.
April 23, 200620 yr I have one Evga 7800 GT and one XFX 7800 GT... I have flashed the bios so both use the same EVGA bios so I don
April 24, 200620 yr Yes ATI AnisoFiltering IS better than NV right now for Flying sims as now you can turn off angle dependent Aniso with ATI and now NV uses it exclusivly (reversed from TI days). 2D NV is as good as any ATI IF the vendor stays true with RFI and you use good cabling and connectors. The thing that stands out here though is that this is about AGP, ATI has nothing close th a 20 pipe 7800GT AGP let alone a 24 pipe 7900GT AGP card.It seems the only factor really is how much do you want to spend, with the suggested $300 for the new 7900 AGP cards it seems a no brainer if one wants to stay AGP.

May 22, 200620 yr I have an eVGA 7800GT CO 256 (PCI-E). As was said, I think the 7900 has/or is replacing the 7800 right now. eVGA offered the 7800GT in 3 flavors: one not overclocked, the "CO" model which was slightly overclocked, and another that was overclocked a little more.I have the CO model which has a small factory overclock.I feel like XFX, BFG and eVGA are all fine brands, I have built with BFG and eVGA, and gotten good results. I have not used XFX but I should. Regarding XFX, I only hear good things about them...and when people here, for example, approve of XFX, I take that very seriously.I think any performance differences between brands will be small. When comparing, I would want to make sure I knew if the cards being compared are factory overclocked or not.Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
