August 5, 200619 yr I am considering purchasing the new Matrox TripleHead2Go after reading the review here on Avsim and was interested if anyone here had taken the plunge? I mainly fly in the VC with Track IR and regularly utilize 2 monitors......Many ThanksHamish
August 6, 200619 yr Make sure you have an Nvidea card if you want to run a resolution greater than 2400x600. If you get three 1280x1024 TFT's you need to run them at their native resolution = 3840x1024 and thus need Nvidea. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
August 8, 200619 yr Yes, it is great. Highly recommended, but you need a beefy Nvidea card to push all those pixels. Still frames are amazingly good even at 3840 x 1024. Rarely drops below 20 (locked at 25) even in complex scenery and weather with a single (no SLI) BFG 7900GTX, AMD3700+ ,Asus mobo, and 2 gigs of ram. This is with most sliders maxed except I keep my traffic at 40% not 100% like some people. Regards, Carlos
August 12, 200619 yr Carlos,Is it possible to have the three monitor for external view (Matrox) and 1 more monitor (the fourth) for GPS and other Instrument guages?Basically two monitors.. 1 3840 X 1024 and the second regular monitor.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 12, 200619 yr Yes. The TH2Go simply accepts one input. On a dual head graphics card the second output is free to use as you would on a normal setup. The only difference is the resolution being pushed out that first output.
August 15, 200619 yr No problem. That assumes your not using SLI though. If you use the TH2Go with SLI then you only get one output from an SLI combo.
August 15, 200619 yr Yup.. I meant without SLI.But as to your point about SLI. I don't understand why, But its noted.;)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 16, 200619 yr >No problem. That assumes your not using SLI though. If you>use the TH2Go with SLI then you only get one output from an>SLI combo. You can use multiple monitors with SLI, right?I don't see why with an SLI setup, each card having two outputs, you couldn't plug the TH2GO into card #1's first output, and your second monitor into card #1's second output. Effectively, SLI is just pretending that those two cards are actually one card, and the TH2GO is just pretending that those two or three monitors are actually one really big monitor, so reasonably, you'd think it would work. But then again, when do things like that like EVER work?
August 16, 200619 yr No. The whole point of SLI is to get the most power out of the multipe GPUs. That means only running one display. You can deactivate SLI and use the other outputs then but, in the current implementation of SLI, if it's enabled, only the primary output of the primary display card gets an output. If you want to use two outputs in an SLI enabled system then just disable SLI and run one output from each card, i.e. one GPU per output.

September 7, 200619 yr Question. I have a nvidia based video card 7800GT OC.If I run FSX on this card at 3840x1024 , and get frame rates of 20FPS, is 20FPS what I can expect using the triple head to go? (3 monitors each with a 1280x1024 res)
September 7, 200619 yr If you are able to set that resolution without the TH2Go then yes, that is what FPS you'll get with it.It's purely an external device that splits the output into 3. The processing is down to the existing graphics card.
