September 9, 200619 yr Hi,I am planning on upgrading my PC next week.Considering this video card. However I read a review which states that the power consumption and heat is quite high. Can anyone who has this card confirm this. Also what size PSU would I need. The other card I would consider is the 7900GT, but would rather stay with Ati. I used the 9800 pro 128MB AGP for 3years, won't cut it for FSX.My new CPU will be the Core Duo E6600, a P5B Mobo, 2gig of Ram, etc. Thanks,Helmut My System: Intel 9700K 4.7Gz, ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHZ, Evga 3070TI 8GB, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte 27" Monitor, Windows 10 64bit, 2xSamsung 500GB SSD, 1x Samsung 120GB, 1x Samsung 970, 1TB, 1TB H/D for Storage. The recommended minimum configuration is 450W/30amps on the 12v rails. I have a Dell XPS that has a 460W PSU with dual 12v rails each rated at 17amp. The spec is sufficient, but I have had issues and had to RMA the card already. While it may have been unrelated to the power, I have read many posts by people having similar issues. My suggestion is to get a decent PSU (550W+) with 12v rails that have at least 20amps on each rail and at least 38amps total.
September 10, 200619 yr Hi, I am running (2) X1900XTX's in Crossfire mode. I am using a 620w PSU with dedicated 12v rails. You will need at least a 400w PSU to be on the safe side. I would suggest you go for the biggest PSU you can afford. This will save you upgrading in the futureAndrew
