October 19, 200619 yr I am one of those that will be skipping FSX so I want to get a better video card for my FS9 setup. I've narrowed the choice to these two cards and I would appreciate help in determining which will give me more horsepower with FS9.Nvidia GeForce 256MB 6800GT or Radeon X800XT 256MBthanks a lot!!
October 19, 200619 yr They will both perform about the same in FS9. Pick which ever one tickles your fancy!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 19, 200619 yr I have the X800XT and it is a great card. You'll love it for FS9, movies, animations, etc.It will give you 100 percent of what FS9 has to give, bar none! The Cat drivers are very stable.Cheers!Mitch R.
October 23, 200619 yr Author thanks for the answers guys. I kind of thought they would deliver about the same performance but when i started looking into pricing the Radeon is much more expensive than the GeForce and I could figure out why.
October 23, 200619 yr I am assuming you need AGP? Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
October 24, 200619 yr I have a 6800GT/OC and it is plenty for FS9. I used a Radeon 9700 Pro before this, and man it was buggy for driver issues on different games. FS was always fine with it, but it would lock up in various games, as did my brothers. We built identical machines.
