August 5, 200718 yr Hi,I need some help, please. I am using nVidia 7800GTX.Athlon FX-57, Win XP SP2, 2Gb RAM, etc....- I uninstalled previous drivers (93.71) and cleaned everything.- I did not uninstall nTune.- Installed Forceware 162.18Now I have no antialiasing in FS9 unless I tick the Antialiasing option inside FS9! No matter what I choose in the nVidia control panel. Furthermore, I have no Antialiasing in windowed mode period! While nVidia fixed the menu windows in full screen mode, now I can't get AA unless I use it within FS itself?? Anyone else experienced this? I am rapidly getting fed up with nVidia and these little things. And shimmering! No way to get rid of the annoying shimmering. Oh well... Thanks in advance for any advice. Regards,Jure
August 5, 200718 yr Jure,As far as I know MS and nVidia always recommended selecting "Application Controlled" for both Antialiasing and Anisotropic settings, when running FS, and turning them ON in FS9 or FSX.As far as the "shimmering" try a lower MIP setting in FS9.cfg.I'm running FSX and eliminated the MIP setting all together because of the excessive shimmering! August 5, 200718 yr Author Pete, interesting, I wasn't aware of that. I thought it was recommended that FS9 be run with antialiasing off and set in the card's control panel. This is my first nVidia card in a very long time...I will try lowering the mip setting and see how it goes, regarding the shimmering.Thank you very much for the tip! :)Jure
August 6, 200718 yr Jure, do look at the thread Gary mentioned. The issue of no AA with the new drivers has been much talked about, and Gary's thread explains the solution. May also help with FSX blurries.
August 7, 200718 yr Author Thanks Gary! If all else fails, I will try nhancer; so far I didn't have much luck. I'm trying to keep my FS machine as clean as possible and I do not particularly like the idea of installing .Net 2.0. Yesterday I deleted the FS9 entry in nvapps.xml and created a new profile as well as trying this out with Riva tuner. Alas, it didn't work. If it really is just a matter of deleting the FS9 (and FSX) profile in nvapps.xml, than this should work, yes? I'm on holiday (yeah, something always interferes :) ) but I will get to the bottom of this when I am home again. Thanks again for the great tip!Regards,Jure
