October 7, 200718 yr On my wife's Dell 2400 PC...It has onboard sound....and at one time, I put a cheap 6 ch sound card in...then took that out about 6 months ago because the dang mic port didn't work.Recently, her speakers have only been playing out of the left speaker only (back to onboard at this point, and yes, I uninstalled drivers to the cheapo card before renabling and installing onboard drivers). So, I tried to reinstall the onboard drivers....still only works with the left speaker. Today, I connected my speakers to her PC and still we only heard the left speaker. At this point I thought it was her motherboard...Ok... so I uninstalled the drivers AND disabled onboard sound in her BIOS. I then added back in the cheap sound card and loaded the latest drivers. Guess what? Still can only hear from the left speaker!!!!!lol....I wasn't expecting that one...So, what could be the issue here? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 7, 200718 yr Have you tried swapping the right and left speakers to see if the problem follows to the other side?Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 7, 200718 yr Just a thought - have you tried going into Windows sound properties and seeing if the right volume control is turned down?Regards, Kendall Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B. Aorus 650 Elite V2.0/32GB GSkill Trident 6000-CL30/Nvidia 1080 Ti./Seasonic Focus 1200W PSU.
October 8, 200718 yr Author I never knew there was a right and left... where do I find that? Under the little speaker icon I cannot find a left/right..As far as swapping speakers....it is a single plug...the green one...and I already tried two different speakers with it....and still only hear the left one.. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 8, 200718 yr Author oh, you mean the balance... yeah we did that....nothing...I cant believe that with 2 sets of speakers, and two sound cards (1 card, 1 onboard), the problem still persists.... anyone else? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 9, 200718 yr Moderator I've heard of mobos w/onboard sound that SAY they're disabled when they're not. Have you tried disabling onboard and plugging in anyway?I'm assuming you plug into the card or the onboard so the socket itself can't be the issue......VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.6Evga 680i A1 with P30 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
