October 13, 200718 yr I was waiting to post this until after I tested it out, but it seems many people are frustrated and hopefully this will help.I am having the same problem with random button presses and the yoke will stop responding. After some research, I found out that my USB chipset on my motherboard is designed to go into a low power state after a few minutes and that the Saitek Yoke doesn't like that. I then tried it on a newer computer with a different USB chipset and the yoke works perfectly. I bought a new USB 4 port add on PCI card to put in my older computer and see if it works. I'll post the results soon.

October 14, 200718 yr You should be able to prevent your on board USB ports 'going to sleep' anyway from their properties.
October 15, 200718 yr Author There is no sleep mode. It happens to be a problem with the Intel chipset on the motherboard. It seems some older chipsets may not work properly with the yoke.
October 15, 200718 yr Lets just hope this is a possible issue with older Intel chips only. As I've got SIS chips.
October 15, 200718 yr Well I'd like to just get mine that was ordered over 2 months ago...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 15, 200718 yr >Well I'd like to just get mine that was ordered over 2 months>ago...On the bright side, you should hopefully be getting one of the new ones that doesn't even have this problem. I had to send mine back. Too much frustration. Hopefully if this issue gets resolved I can order one again. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 15, 200718 yr Can't really see how they can design a USB spec device that has problems with USB chipsets in this day and age...Not like USB is new...
October 18, 200718 yr On the Saitek official forum, there's a picture that's claiming to be the inside of one of these yokes. I only hope it's not true, the soldering is appalling.See page 7 of this thread.http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?p=61250#post61250
October 18, 200718 yr YIKES! :-eek :-eek :-eekIt looks like its soldered by hand, cables have long uninsulated parts near the pads, there are visible cold solders etc.Pitty... I wanted one for XMas... I will thing about it.Then again, I will know what to do to fix if broken... Reassemble it as it should!George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
