I have an ABIT IP35 Pro MB set up for a RAID 1 (Mirror). Is it possible to connect a SATA CD/DVD drive or do I need to use an IDE drive and why? Thanks.

However, if the SATA controller is set up as RAID in the BIOS, can you use the remaining SATA ports for a non-raid SATA CD/DVD drive? I.E. SATA ports 1 & 2 each have a SATA hard drive connected and set as RAID. Can you plug in a SATA CD/DVD drive to SATA port 3?

Along that line, IIUC if you install the RAID drivers for the abit, the drives can (must?) be operated in ACHI mode. It seems like that may be better than default IDE mode, but don't know (for example, allows NCQ?)scott s..
