Questions for Saitek Yoke users that have used CH Yoke....

Featured Replies

I've seen a lot of reviews for the new Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, but I can't seem to find any comparisons between Saitek & CH. Who out there has the Saitek Yoke that has also used the CH Yoke? Is the Saitek one better? Does it feel more realistic? Does it have a more defined center point for elevator & aileron axis? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, I don't have one but, I have tried my freind's Saitek Yoke.It is much better all round. It feels more sensative and a nice point is the centre detent for level flight. (The CH one I use is unpredictable and has no centreing facility without checking the calibration)In my opinion, my next yoke will be the Saitek. The throttles that go with it make it more than attractive too, there's even a 'reverse thrust' assignment on the throttle that is nigh impossible with my CH.Another plus point is it's cheaper! Put that together with the Saitek pedals and you quickly realise that Saitek is the way forward now.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping that they were better that the CH yoke, which to me feels like a toy (just my opinion), rudder pedals are ok though.

I also have the Saitek rudders which are great but I'm also interested in anybody that has purchased and used a PFC (Precision Flight Controls) 'Column Yoke'. They also have a 737NG Boeing designed Yoke. For all the money that I have shelled out for a computer system, I think the next big purchase is going to be one of these guys, as the Yoke is where its at when you try simulating the real thing. The CH yoke that I have is a complete waste of money as anyone would tell you if they had any time in a real NG or the real NG simulator for that matter. At the end of the day, it's about a good Yoke, Rudder set, and Throttle system IMO...jack

Avoid the Saitek yoke until the technical issues get resolved. Register and read all the posts about people having problems, or just take my word for it :)I hate to bad mouth a company. I really hope they get the issues fixed in a new version of the yoke. By the way, after you go to the trouble of contacting their support and sending in your serial number, all they do is tell you to return it from where you bought it anyway. Save yourself the trouble.

Hi guys,I have a gameport version PFC column yoke (with SAAB 340 shape yoke), I feel it nothing much far from the real one in the real airline simulator I tried. Of course there is difference, but....just not toooo much.I do not have either Saitek or CH yoke. I tried the CH yoke in a game shop. The handling is very "toy". I cannot say it is bad, as it cost much lower than PFC. I do think CH can do it better by using better "spring" inside, make it feels better.Same story goes to the joystick, all CH joystick handling is very "toy". If you want better feeling (alike airbus stick), try second hand Thrustmaster X-fighter (gameport only). It is an old joystick. Its handling and feeling is good, like for airliner. Except it use military B8 type joystick body. It cost really cheap in second hand market. Sometimes it cost few bucks only.Cougar's feeling is purely for fighter jet.

I have several hours in the real 737NG sim and the yoke that I currently have is a CH variety. For the money, you can't beat it, but from an 'As real as it gets' standpoint, excuse the expression, it definitely ain't. Not even close to the real thing. I think I'll end up getting the PFC Boeing 737NG Column Yoke. A little pricey but hey, I've spent too much money on software and computers to deny myself what flying is all about, and it ain't about a CH Yoke & pedals.....Regards,jack
