Believe you me, these cards make a H ell of a difference. I bought a Inno3D 8800GT 512mb to replace my x1600xt card, and on my rubbish cpu, it made 100% improvement! Now I cant wait until xmas to get my quad core and clock it to 3GHZ and watch it fly (literally!)IanAMD AM2 3800x22gig DDR 667MHZ Inno3D 8800GT 512MB19" @1280x1024Vista Ultimate 32p.s for anyone interested plays crysis on medium,/high settings with good Frames. I am presuming with a new CPU would play it on ultra high at my res of 1280x1024 with 4aa applied.

>I hope you bought a lightning surge protector for your new>system Tom. ;-)>>GaryI had a fairly good one from Monster connected to it when the lightning hit it, and it made no difference! My power company now offers house wide surge protection for a monthly fee, and guarantees it so I'm going with that, and I'm looking into a total lightning protection system including lightning rods but that looks like it's going to set me back at least a grand, so since the heavy lightning season is just about over for this year, I hoping I can get by until next year, for that, and I'll just go with the power companies solution for now.

Thanks

I have lost several components over the years to lightning, although none in my new house (since 2004) which is good.I have an APC backup/surge but I don't have much faith in it. For one thing, if the power blinks, the APC unit doesn't kick on. I think it might be defective, or maybe they are not designed to kick on during blinks?I wonder if a person can get homeowners insurance to cover such a loss.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

I live in Florida (The lightning capital of the world!). Right now insurance companies are dropping people for the slightest thing down here, or raising their rates at a drop of the bucket, so I'm reluctant to use it unless it's for a real catastrophic loss. I already got a 25% general increase this year, even though our state legislature supposedly passed a law this year that was to reduce our rates. It actually had the opposite effect. So I'm sought of caught between a rock and a hard place. If I file a claim I risk being dropped, which would make it very difficult to get replacement insurance or a raise in my premium. So I guess I'll just have to eat it for now!! The insurance companies have us over a barrel down here, and so far Government has been no help!

Thanks
