Glenn, Which GT did you order? Regular clock speed or overclocked card? Which brand of card if I may ask?Stan

My 8800 GTS gets up to 85C (not with FSX of course, it needs a real graphics load to work up a sweat!), but doesn't make much noise for all that heat.Gary

Ordered mine from newegg.com yesterday, should be here by monday. Checked their website again and all the 8800GTs are already out of stock. Glad my order already shipped! Who's buying all these cards up so fast?! Perhaps the AVSIM community!!Eric

Oops, I own a 8800GTX, and the reviews report that it

I have dual 8800 GTX's on my Dell Quad Core OC to 3.47 Mhz, 4 GB 1066 ram. Dual monitors (no SLI of course). 1 24" LCD monitor for forward view and 1 21" for throttles, FMC and ATC. I get 20-30 fps on the LD767 with sliders to 1/2 - 2/3. All sliders maxed out, I get <10 fps. I still say the CPU is everything!

All>sliders maxed out, I get <10 fps. I still say the CPU is>everything!I have a single 8800GTX and a E6850 and I can also confirm that FSX like FS9 is CPU intensive because the FPS difference in FSX and FS9 with the 8800GTX and 8800GTS isn't much. I would wait until end of the year and see what else is been released because I hear the updated 8800GTS is been released Nov 15th.

The question is, did SP2 introduce techniques that stress a Graphics Card more than before in *some* settings?Especially looking at DX10, switching on bloom and more than Water Low 2.x, is that more stress for the GPU and do NV 8600 or HD2600 suffer there?Bigean

My new Dell XPS 720 just shipped, which has the 8800GT card, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. I got excellent performance from my previous system (Fried from lightning strike) with ATI X1950XTX crossfires, so I'm hoping for even greater performance from this system, of course mostly from the higher CPU, E6850 vs E6700.

Thanks

Tom
