HannsG 27.5" 1080p LCD

Featured Replies

Anyone have one of these or seen one in person?http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=118856132468927.5" for $599.00 is very tempting.I bet FSX would look incredible. I'm gonna have to drive to BB and see if they have one on display. I wonder what BB's dead pixel policy is? I'd hate to spend that much cash and end up with even one dead pixel.I wonder if I could arrive at a non busy time and generously tip a stockboy to uncrate one and hook it up so I could check it before leaving the store.

I jumped the gun twice. First I got the Dell 27" running 1920x1200, then Westinghouse 37" running 1920x1080....1090p LCD.....Couldn't be happier. Get it......Abe

Not sure I never seen there dead pixel policy I believe that lcd warranty is only for 1 year so i would get the best buy warranty that's only I think about 50 bucks for 3 years that's at least what I'm planing to do myself. So far right now there isn't any monitor lcd out there with the same features and size for this kind of price I'm pretty sure everyone would like to get the best of the best but of course that also costs a lot of money which some of us don't have, to me the monitor in best buy looked fine so hopefully if everything goes well I will have this baby by Christmas and its really big coming from a 19 widscreen thing is a beast!

Spend a little more get the Samsung 275T, or wait for sales on the many 40" 1080p LCDs...

I'm gonna have to try and get out to BB and see it in person.I'm running a high end 22" crt that I bought around 5 years ago. I can't even imagine what 27.5 looks like.I bet the cockpits in fSX look awesome. And racing sims should really benefit too. And with a monitor that big I might actualy have a chance at not getting my arse kicked across the battlefield by the AI in the Total War series. The only thing I'm not sure I like is going from 1600x1200 to 1900x1200. It's bound to be a performance hit, but I do have a GTX to push it.Did the unit you saw in BB have vibrant colors? Did you notice any limitations in the viewing angle? Did you notice any back light issues? I guess they problably cherry pick to ensure the display units look good anyway.I never even thought I'd ever buy a monitor this big. I figured maybe a 24", but a 27 with that price grabs your attention.

I got the Westinghouse 42" 1080p and that is the "cats pajamas" FS9 is fantastic!! B42L8

I just picked up one of these at Best Buy this weekend. The first one one I got had a few dead pixels. Took it back and exchanged it for another. No, problems at all with the second unit.FSX looks amazing on this thing. I almost feel as if I'm actually in a cockpit. The monitor comes will all the required cables D-sub, DVI to HDMI, Component, and audio. It also comes with a standard 3 year warranty from the manufacturer.I upgraded from a 20' Samsung LCD with a native resolution of 1600x1200 and running FSX locked at 30FPS. Running FSX on the Hanns-G settings unchanged except for resolution to 1920x1200 and my frames are still locked at 30FPS. Also my system seems to actually run a bit better at larger airports with the higher resolution.Truely a great deal!!

Well your comments just about seal it Sargeski,It'll have to wait a few weeks 'cause I just spent the cash on a qx9650. I'll sell my old gear to a friend to recoupe some of the cost.So now on the list is the 27.5, and a saitek yoke w/ extra quad. Now I just wish those usb autopilot and radio stacks weren't so darn expensive 'cause I would love to have one.About your dead pixels, did you ever find out what BB's dead pixel policy is? I looked online but never found anything. Must not have a been a problem for you I guess, since you they let you exchange it for a good one.

However, they did hook up the monitor to verify my claims and there were no issues exchanging it. I actually had some stuck pixels (not dead) on the first unit. I've been waiting for my Saitek Yoke for a month and a half now(been on back order). According to Fedex should be here around the 23rd. Can't wait to get it hooked it up. I have had the pedals and extra quad sitting for a month and a half waiting on the yoke.
