Saitek Aviator Dual Throttle Set Up

Featured Replies

I just purchased this danged thing and I can't figure out how to program the dual throttles. Can anyone help me out here? I found one suggestion on the internet and it said that the sensitivities place is where to set it up but that area only shows a single throttle adjustment, vice two.Help?

There is no facility in FSX itself for more than one throttle. You could try using the Saitek software that came with the stick if you like buggy programmes and have a lot of patience. If you want to do the job properly though I recommend getting FSUIPC, which, as well as solving this specific problem, solves a million other problems in FS too.Payware, but absolutely worth the money, IMO.Check it out here: http://secure.simmarket.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=2068Scroll down the page a bit, and you can read a list of all the Programme features.Hope this helps :-)RegardsGrahame

I'm a little late here, but here is an answer I found somewhere online...In FS9, go to Settings -> Assignments, on the joystick axes tab open the engine 1 throttle axis and assign it to one slider, then repeat for engine 2 throttle axis with the other slider. Then go into Settings -> Sensitivities and make sure that the Engine 2 throttle isn't set to 0. I'm guessing it should be set to max, but I'm not sure. That worked for me. I'm not sure if it is the same in FSX.

WOW works perfect in FSX with no addons !I had always read it was not possible but just tried it with the Grumman Goose and it works. Thanks for the tip.

Glad it works for FSX.One more thing I learned...For me, autopilot didn't override the slider setting. I had to make a center deadzone (under calibrate joystick), then with throttle set in the deadzone the autopilot can take over.

Yeah, I am not sure why the myth about it not working in FSX. I read that in another post and thought I was going to need to spend more money to get my throttle quadrant to work, but it works fine. Almost all FSX controls can easily be mapped manually as well, like gear up gear down.

Oh..! The SENSITIVITIES settings! THAT'S what I was missing :-P(yes, set to max, just as it's defaulted to Engine 1)Now it works like a charm... You should see me taxing that DC-3 w/ the throttles only... :-)You're the best!(P.S.: I wonder, how did people fixed stuff before Internet forums existed...??)Cheers!Blaze>I'm a little late here, but here is an answer I found>somewhere online...>>In FS9, go to Settings -> Assignments, on the joystick axes>tab open the engine 1 throttle axis and assign it to one>slider, then repeat for engine 2 throttle axis with the other>slider. >>Then go into Settings -> Sensitivities and make sure that the>Engine 2 throttle isn't set to 0. I've been using multiple throttles since FS2004. Now I have a CH quadrant with 4 throttle levers, a flaps lever and a spoilers lever assigned; plus three saitek throttles having 4 mixture and 4 propeller levers. All working in FSX. It is a standard feature of FS2004 and FSX.
