July 18, 200817 yr Author This topic is months old but I just remembered it.I sure hope it will run better, because I think that FS11 will be a major step forward in graphics and flight simulation realism...I hope so anyways. And there's the slightest possibility I might get a 1 GB video card by then.If MS sticks to the 2-3 year schedule, FS11 should be out next year already. Phil Taylor's blog already states that FS11 is under development.FSX uses quad-core for just terrain/scenery rendering. What could FS11 use all 4 cores for besides just that? Thanks, Regards, BoeingGuy ASUS P5E X38 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.2 GHz on 1600 MHz FSB (400x8) | 4 GB DDR2-800 RAM | EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Superclocked @ 679/979 | 320 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 RPM HD
July 20, 200817 yr I'm not>a member of the part of this community that runs FSX with>sliders maxed out and complain about how bad FSX performs. I>enjoy it with sliders set in the way I wan't with a smooth>flight without blurries. Here Here! The voice of reason. It's really a cryin shame to use MAX RIGHT on ALL SLIDERS as the test of performance adequacy. Those sliders are kind of arbitrary. They could have programmed in 4x that much processing difficulty by adding even more features (no one could run). That's not a fault of the game. It's headroom for hardware to develop into. I'd rather have software that doesn't run fully maxed as it becomes obsolete with your next hardware upgrade.
