It's worth a try as was said to copy out the FS dir's and then copy then back in WITH careful attn being paid to copying out the registry keys associated with FS. Not an easy task.In fact I feel attempting to save your existing install would be more trouble than it's worth, and you would risk a good-running FS in the process. I say this in light of the fact that I do know how long it takes to get a decked-out FS up and running--100's of AI aircraft, plans, scenery, aircraft, other misc. add-ons, it can take a week to get it all installed and going. But the clean good perf payoff of doing a ground-up clean install far outweighs the negatives in my opinion.Think about it this way,..if you do it right the first time, you won't have to do this again for 2-3 years.RhettFS box: E8500 (@ 3.80 ghz), AC Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64ASX Client: AMD 3700+ (@ 2.6 ghz), 7800GT

>Just do an upgrade install if offered or a repair...Not recommended, a complete/full reformat is the only way to go.
