After getting poor results with my new rig I want to re-install Vista64 without also a new install of FS9 and FSX. The OS cost me 1/2 a hour but FS a whole day....Any thougts...Cheers

Might try to copy out the whole directories, paste em back into the new opsystem install, then run this FS registry repair too. Worth a try. Couldn't make it worse. http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library

I don't know, I still recommend reinstalling everything.That's part of the fun, at least for me!

It's worth a try as was said to copy out the FS dir's and then copy then back in WITH careful attn being paid to copying out the registry keys associated with FS. Not an easy task.In fact I feel attempting to save your existing install would be more trouble than it's worth, and you would risk a good-running FS in the process.
