October 9, 200817 yr Vista 64, Geforce 260 with latest drivers and FSX SP2 (not acceleration). What do I need to know about running with DX10? If you install the latest (10.1), will FSX start using the API?
October 9, 200817 yr No, FSX only takes advantage of a sample of DX10.A lot of people don't like using DX10 in FSX, they say it screws up textures etc....I don't have Vista, so I wouldn't know from experience. But you can uncheck the DX10 preview within FSX if it causes anomalies for you. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

October 11, 200817 yr hey there from what i read on tomshardware review of fsx they said that prior to sp1 (for vista that is...) they were able to achieve great fps (something like 60-70) but after vista sp1 and with it dx10.1 it droped to 30s fps this again base on my understandings from their website by the way i think they used vista 32bit ...hope this helped you
