Addon Compatability with 64bit OS

Featured Replies

Hello, I am thinking of purchasing a new computer, and was wondering if the following addons would work for a Windows Vista 64bit OS.1. Microsoft Flight Simulator 20042. Ultimate Airliners: Super 803. Greatest Airliners: 7274. SIMCharts by Jeppesen5. The Flight One ATR 72-5006. F.O.C. FlightOperationCenter7. FS Build v2.38. FS Dreamteam KORD (FS9 Version)9. The Modern Airliner Collection: E-Jets Series10. Level-D 767-300ER11. Regional Jet Vol. 1 - Canadair Regional Jet - CRJ12. Mega Airport Frankfurt X (FSX/FS2004)13. HORIZON - VFRUSA VOL.2 - CHICAGO14. World-of-AI Packages15. Numerous files from the AVSIM Library.Just to note that all of these would be used for FS2004

If anybody has tried these and they work with the Windows Vista 64bit OS, please let me know.Thanks,aal763

If all you are going to be using is FS2004 there is no need for you to use the 64bit OS. Use a 32bit OS and if for some reason you still want Vista X64 then dual boot it with the 32bit OS.

I thought of this, but I wanted to have 4GB of memory. HP only allows 3GB of memory at the max for the 64bit OS. Anyways, I may switch to FSX in the future when all of the world-of-ai packages work for fsx. Thanks for the suggestion though.

they should all work in Vista64They will all be running as 32 bit apps in a 64 bit OS, by hidden emulations....or something like thatallen

What about the files in the AVSIM library. Would they work?

>They will all be running as 32 bit apps in a 64 bit OS, by>hidden emulations....or something like that--------------------------------------------------------------------What does this mean?

>>They will all be running as 32 bit apps in a 64 bit OS, by>>hidden emulations....or something like that>>>-------------------------------------------------------------------->>What does this mean?>>>FSX runs as a 32 bit applicatin insode the 64 bit operating systemMeans little performance wise

>What about the files in the AVSIM library. Would they work?If it runs in Vista32, it will run in FSX under Vista64

Numerous files from the AVSIM Library.I've annotated the ones I have personally run in Vista64In general, add-ons that will run in FS9 on a 32-bit system will run OK on 64. There are a few exceptions. The older RealityXP Garmins that use the 16-bit Garmin trainer will not run...you can buy the new FSX/FS9 ones that use the Garmin 32-bit trainer, but they are more limited in FS9 (i.e. can't export route info to other gauges)I've had a very few installers that had issues...for example the program that adds entries to the scenery.cfg as part of the FlyTampa scenery installer doesn't run in 64-bit systems, so you have to go back in and add them manually with the scenery editor after installation.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

I have V64 bit...only way to go really now for performance in general. All my FSX mods -- and I have numerous -- work fine, no problems whatsoever.

FeelThere don't guarantee their products with 64 bit Windows (some customers report troubles, some report success), so the CRJ and E-Jets may need checking out. You don't mention hardware, but some GoFlight software doesn't suport 64 bit either. Again, you have to check their www site for details.--Bryn
