February 17, 200620 yr CB-This is confusing, but the new rule in place about the 8500' limit also affects the Duenna. We are all getting used to it. Since arrvoo went above 8500', the Duenna did not log a valid flight. The baton is at EKVG. Your choice as to where to next, but remember that you need to complete the leg in less than 2 hrs (there is a penalty of 3 mins for every minute over 2 hrs in the actual race). Other than that, we are flying eastbound. Don't forget about the 8500' restriction, otherwise your flight will have a similar fate as arrvoo's. This is something that the rules committee has added this year and we are all getting used to.For more details see the private forum.Take care-ChrisEDIT: Bryan it's odd that your Duenna post is also showing EKVG - EKVG even though it's valid. You did land at EGCC right?
February 17, 200620 yr Flying wing in the considerably slower P-38 but any successful landing is a good onehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142117.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142118.txt TEAM AVSIM "Fly Anything" Member BAW 1193
February 17, 200620 yr Chris, maybe he had really tough headwinds :DShould I go EGCC - ? I'm already set up to to EKVG-ENBR, but I can change it.Craig Craig Taylor
February 17, 200620 yr you should get yourself an alarm-clock...i mean a little program that does just that: makes a lot of noice after x minutes time...been using it now for quite a while and it's done me -more than once!- very good service...-unfortunately it's in german...but if you're interested you can have it...it's freeware anyway.best regards, manfred
February 17, 200620 yr Craig-I just talked with Harvey (arrvoo) on the teamspeak. He says he made it to EGCC with Bryan no problem, so between the two of them this is a valid leg. Not sure why Bryan's Duenna is off.... may be a bug. They are running the Build 83, current version is Build 85. Could be that it's fixed now. Anyway- yes, baton is at EGCC.I'd love to fly with you on multiplayer but bushnet is down at the moment. Have a great flight!-Chrisps. I will follow up with John Mueller (Duenna author) and figure out what the heck is going on here. Very confusing.
February 17, 200620 yr Yes Chris , I was initially routed to newcastle england before I was aware Arrvoo was taking leg to manchester so I changed route to Man prior to activating duenna (albeit on gps not on ms flight planner) though this action should not affect duenna,as ,what if it was an emergency divert to an alternative airport for example bit of a concern this ? as was a good leg to EGCC TEAM AVSIM "Fly Anything" Member BAW 1193
February 17, 200620 yr CB-Just an FYI on forum procedures for the race:When you grab the baton, respond to the message at the top of the thread (as you did), and change the subject line to "I have the baton EGCC - EHKD"When you land safely and stop on the runway at EHKD IMMEDIATELY reply to your "I have the baton..." post and change the subject to "Baton free at EHKD"Then go back and edit the "Baton free at EHKD" post and add your Duenna attachments (the picture and text file). There is a link in the text file to the picture, if you just copy and paste into the attachments window it will easily pull up the picture. You'll have to navigate to attach the text file. Don't forget to change the file type on the picture to ".JPG image" in the attachment window. Both attachments are required for a valid race leg.The reason we post first then go back and edit is the race clock is based on forum time between the two posts, not the time on the Duenna. Duenna just validates the flight. This format makes it easier for everyone to understand what is going on in the race by scanning down the forum.Let me know if you have questions-Chris
February 17, 200620 yr Right that should not effect the Duenna at all. Not sure what is going on here.
February 17, 200620 yr Just updated to duenna 85 trying a leg from Manchester EGCC to My home airport Heathrow EGLL gonna divert to LGW Gatwick and see what happens :) Will post duenna results here Cheers Bry That seemed to work ok Dont know if it was a glitch or whether duenna 85 sorted out 83`s bug ?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142126.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142127.txt TEAM AVSIM "Fly Anything" Member BAW 1193
February 17, 200620 yr Came in too hot, too high. Landed way too long, ran off the runway and into a building. Oops! But if the building hand't been there... ;)Well, best to work these things out in practice. I think I've got the posting down. Chris, thanks for the tips!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142125.jpg Craig Taylor
February 17, 200620 yr The Baton is free at EHKD The Duenna seems to be playing nicely now :) Ooops should have posted this to my original thread a steep learning curve sorry :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142130.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/142131.txt TEAM AVSIM "Fly Anything" Member BAW 1193
February 17, 200620 yr is de Kooy still in FS? That's a helicopter base only, did't even know they still had a runway there :)
February 17, 200620 yr Enroute to EDDT (wasn't sure if we're continuing east, northeast, of southeast - figured a straight line was best. Short flight if I messed up.). :-)
