November 10, 200520 yr Hi, Progressing with the tutorial, In the part about programming the FMC in the tutorial there's no mention of selecting the relevent SID from the list in the FMC.Having done all that and programmed the route I get a TOD of 131.9 and not 123.3 as mentioned in the tutorial, also instead of saying at TOPAX FL152, mine says at KMH 7073, but the rest of the route looks the same.I got completely confused when it came to starting in hotel mode and talking to the engineer and the pressing of the main button, from that point on everything went haywire and when I pressed the main button, both pilots were talking at once and all I caould get was "taxi checklist - tail prop" over and over again.I had to shut down FS and when I get some more time I will have another go.One thing is that I am sure you have done a great job Bryan but it is going to take some time to get it mastered. I don't find it particularly intuituve and I am a commercial pilot, however I will persevere. It's a bit frustrating to spend some 40 minutes on it and have to start again though. One thing is fore sure, flying a real aircraft is much easier!CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif
November 10, 200520 yr Tim,I wouldn't worry too much about the actual distance of the TOD, as long as there is one. Did you remember to enter the altitude for 5100 at KMH? That would change the TOD if you missed it.As to the startup sequence, I can only share your pain . It's a very carefully choreographed dance that the flight deck crew and ground crew go through at this point. I reckon I've got it down OK now, but it's taken 10 or so flights to get to that point. If you find it a little tricky, welcome aboard!Cheers
November 10, 200520 yr Andy,Yup, takes a little time. I've made four "attempts" so far and haven't got it completely right yet, but I'm getting close!!:-lol But, relatively speaking, the ATR is MUCH easier for me to get a grasp on then the 737 version was initially. (Not knocking the 737 Pro version a bit, wonderful add-on that I use regularly), but the ATR version is just simply "cleaner" for lack of better words.Hang in there TIM, you'll get it!
November 10, 200520 yr The first time I tried the program I had the same problem with the repeating taxi list. However, I had inadvertently pressed the secondary button too early and had started the banter between the captain and FO. I shut down and restarted, being careful not to do anything out of sequence and this problem went away. Is it possible that you did something out of sequence?
November 10, 200520 yr Thanks guys, nice to know I'm not the only one having an issue or 2! LOLFunnily enough, I got the 737 flight spot on first time! I must say this is better without all the mini panels popping up and I will get there eventually! It caught me out by going on about the Main button all the time at the hotel mode start up sequence, it was a while before I fianlly figured it was the keystroke I'd just programmed! Thats when things got out of whack I think! It could do with a reset button to take you back a few steps.CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

November 10, 200520 yr Commercial Member Good to hear Tim!On average it took my beta testers 4 to 5 flights before they were able to make a smooth flight.Give it time. You'll get there!Cheers,Bryan B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
