have the performance issue of clouds been fixed in fsx? currently if we want 3D clouds there is a huge performance hit on the system, has this been fixed?

Hi, I have noticed, that the default cloud performance in the FSX demo is far better than the cloud performance of fs9. Jan-Paul

A huge request for FS2004 was to get rid of the 'sheets of paper' clouds in FS2002. Now we have 3D clouds that look a lot more like the real thing compared to the old FS2002 clouds. But they come at a cost!(processing power)Just something I thought you might want to consider whether that cost has been reduced or not.Personally I can have quite a lot of 3D clouds on my screen in FS2004(with 4x AA enabled at 1600x1200 resolution I might add) before I start getting much of an impact on my system. Sure, it's hard on my system when there's several layers of 3D clouds in a 'socked in' weather enviroment, but I never really considered the clouds to be a 'performance issue' that was broken and in need of fixing. After the getting rid of the FS2002 paper clouds I always considered the FS2004 3D clouds to be a 'what kind of a computer system do you have?' issue.

The clouds do work a lot better than in FS9 but last night I was flyingwith real world weather and the clouds looked hideous. There were darkpurple clouds and light grey clouds and light peach and light blue cloudsall mixed in together with no apparent rhyme or reason to it. i hopethats not the way the release version is... but if so then surely Active Skywill come to the rescue.I was planning on buying ActiveSky for FSX anyway but I had hoped I wouldn't have to.

I took a flight tonight andthe clouds looked just fine. It might have had something to do withthe hurricane in the area. Yesterday I had all kinds of colors but today things looked pretty good. I can't wait to see that bloom effect. Its too bad cloud shadows bit the dust though.
