Sound balance

Featured Replies

Hi Bryan,Could you please explain if it is possible to vary the balance between the volume levels of fs2crew`s voices and that of the fs9 noises.I find that the fs2crew voices are too loud on my system and when I turn the pc volume control down to achieve a more comfortable level, the aircraft noises (engines etc.) are too low.Thanks,Brian.

Hi Brian,In the FS9 Sounds Menu you have the option to turn engine sounds and other environmental sounds up.I might suggest trying that as it should make the FS2Crew sounds seem quieter and balance things out for you.Sound volume, though, is always difficult from my perspective because it's fairly subjective. What some people think is too loud others would find too quiet and vice versa. The last option would be to use a wav file editor and manually lower the volume on all FS2Crew wavs.Hope that helps,Bryan

Bryan,Thank you for your reply.I shall have a go through the fs9 menu and see what I can do. The other option I think would stretch my computer skills a bridge too far! Thanks again for your splendid support service.Brian.

You do not have to use the system sound editor as for this large number of files it would take you a long time.May I suggest you go to http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html and download their free Wavepad sound editor. It comes with a Batch Converter option where you can just pick all of your FS2CREW files and convert them using 'amplify' option set at whatever percentage you want your sound files to be played. So, as an example 50% amplify would be your half the original volume.Hope this helps.Best regardsDom
