No smoking & seatbelt signs

Featured Replies

First time I've been here since the changes: a bit of a shock. Is anyone going to look at this forum now? All the FS9 stuff is still over in the FSX forum....Well, testing things out, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to specify in a saved flight plan (.pln file) for a flight to start up with no-smoking and seatbelt signs off (or on). If so, what is the syntax and where do the lines go?I saved my default flight with the signs off, but this doesn't seem to affect other saved flights.Martin

The short answer is no. Neither of these items have actual FS variables attached to them. Any seatbelt or no-smoking switch you see in FS9 or earlier is just a placebo switch.Doug

Yup, they're just eye- and ear-candy, with no purpose other than making cute little "ding" sounds..... :(

Unless your using FSpax then it has a purpose lol(go fspax). Although it is not use through the actual switch within the aircraft, it has it's own seatbelt switch.Edit: Oh Ya I forgot, hurray for the fs9 forum, thank you avsim for accomodating as always.

It's odd that some of my flights open with the switches on & some off - soemtimes I can save the setting, othertimes not. May depend on the panel. Not exactly a vital issue - but it's nice to have the signs off by default if possible, to go with a 'cold' startup cockpit,M.
