Gauge removal utility?

Featured Replies

Can someone please point me towards a good utility that removes unused gauges from FS9?

HiTry "Flightsim Manager". It's freeware and you can find it here in the library files. Download "fsm285.zip"Willy

That was exactly what I was looking for - thank you

Or you can download Gaugeexplorer110.zip (from here). This program finds out which gauges are not used. You can then choose to remove those unused non-default gauges or to move them to a safety folder. Then it re-checks the gauges once again.Easy installation, easy to handle! My recommendation!Haraldh F.

That's another great find - thank you

Willy,I installed fsm but when I went to use it I got the message "use newer version" or something like that. It did not work. The web site was also not working to check for a newer version. Anyone else having a similar problem?Carl Carl

What are the advantages of removing unused gauges?

Gerry Howard

If you install a panel (with gauges) and then for some reason delete the aircraft or the panel (or exchange that panel for a "better" one), you will end up with a lot of unused gauges in your gauge folder, taking up extra space!I use the GaugeExplorer to check for those unused gauges and to remove/move them, thus keeping my gauge folder at minimum level!Haraldh

Thanks for the help! I've been looking for ways of trimming down my obese F9 install.
