December 23, 200619 yr Hi.I have listened to alot of talk about FSX vs FS2004 and i decided to go get FS2004. Now, to make it as good looking as possible, what mods do i get? (Except for stuff i have already downloaded, like 5621 different aircraft that were mostly only compatible to FS2004.)I am mostly looking for eye candy enhancements, my box can run FSX "reasonably well" but when i go to places like Haneda (Tokyo), my FPS sinks down below the earts crust. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas.
December 24, 200619 yr Ground Environment Pro- links withActive Sky's latest version that ships with Graphics enhancements for skyMy next purchase will be FS Genesis Mesh, followed by Ultimate terrain for the parts of the world I fly in most.Best Regards, Donny :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
December 25, 200619 yr I wholeheartedly agree with Donny. Those are the best add-ons available in my opinion to jazz up FS9.KP
December 25, 200619 yr 1) Ground Environment Pro2) Flight Environment3) Ultimate Terrain USA, Canada, Europe4) FS Genesis Terrain Mesh, as required5) Activecamera (for your virtual cockpit)6) ActiveSky v6.x7) Radar Contact v4.x8) Freeware Tokyo Hanada Airport 9) Freeware Tokyo city w / buildings10) Ultimate Traffic11) Replace UT traffic aircraft with AIA, EvolveAI, etc as needed. This is my personal recommendation and my official recommendation as an Avsim Reviever. Simply put, with these 11 add-ons (high fidelity aircraft not withstanding), you'll have absolutely no problem waiting until the year 2098 when you can FINALLY run FSX on your Intel Pentium MindMeld (PMM), with 4 Terrawatts of Neurosynaptic Quantum RAM, 400 Googlebit quantum singularity storage and ATI Direct-to-Brainstem Visual Cortex integration Visual Graphics Processor (D2BVCVGP) running at 1 trillion braincells per microsecond. (Sorry I couldn't resist! LOL)But seriously, get those 11 add-ons, and you'll be a VERY happy man.
December 25, 200619 yr Ground Environment Pro for, well, the ground.Flight Environment for skies, clouds, and water.FS Genesis mesh wherever you want detailed mountains and hills.Ultimate Terrain series for accurate roads, towns, and coastlines.Active Sky6 for better detailed conditions. (I don't have it yet but everyone here swears by it.)I just installed the FS Genesis 9meter mesh for Grand Teton National Park this morning. A small Christmas present for myself. I set Flight Environment for a gorgeous nuclear explosion sunrise and soft clouds, took off in a slo-mo biplane and had a mind blowing, high detail, graphically stunning flight. Incredible! Until you see it on your screen you wouldn't believe it was possible. For my part, I would get GE & FE first. Together if possible. It will give you an immediate and huge! increase in flightsim gorgeousness from top to bottom in every enviroment. After that, use the other programs to refine the experience.Happy flying. ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
December 25, 200619 yr >8) Freeware Tokyo Hanada Airport >9) Freeware Tokyo city w / buildingsOr you can go with the very nice Payware Japan Airports http://www.overland.co.jp/sms/airport3.html ;)
