July 2, 200718 yr Considering purchasing the PSS Dash 8--is the FMC/systems fully functional (SID/STARs, holds, etc)?Any other inputs would be appreciated.ThanksKemoF15
July 2, 200718 yr Yes - but only if you update the FMC database with the nav data from this website (at a small cost) http://www.navdata.at/The PSS Dash8 is a good aircraft - for it's age. It would be very, very good if PSS updated it - especially in regard to the quality of it's VC. It is "OK" now - but is not fully functional. The DASH8 was originally designed for FS2002.Barry
July 2, 200718 yr > the quality of it's VC.the VC does look good ... but is not functional (limitation from FS8).you will need to do some tweeks to the .air and .cfg files to overcome pitch & power issues during climb, cruise, approach and landing.flown the PSS D8 since release - loved it in FS8 ... enjoy it in FS9.-- D. July 2, 200718 yr The 2D panel is really a work of art. I only use the VC for enroute sightseeing, or to look over my shoulder on a visual circuit, so I don't really care if the switches aren't functioning (most are not).As I recall, the flight dynamics needed some work to deal with a serious nose-up pitch attitude on approach, and the systems fidelity is only skin-deep.But still, 5 years later, it's a fun bird to fly. There's a long-known bug in the FMS that will trip a CTD in some circumstances if you try loading a route using airways. If you just enter the route waypoint by waypoint it's fine, which is no big deal on the shorter routes a turboprop typically flies.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
July 3, 200718 yr I don't want to confuse matters for you any, but there is also a Dash8 developed my Majestic Software. Might be worth a look. I personally like their product much better. Just a suggestion. :) www.majesticsoftware.com
