AI Question

Recommended Posts

Ok this is simple for the AI guys. Im working on a scenery for KBDL and want to put the A-10's on the field where they park. All I want to do is use a nice A-10 AI model and have them show up in parking. Dont need them to fly. Just park on the ramp. Mind telling me how to do that??Thanks!!Hornit

Hi Hornit, In order to accomplish this you will need to set up a small flightplan for each plane and compile using Traffic Tools (read the help section for guidance) and then assign reserved parking for each (if you wish) using AFCAD (explained in the help section). The flightplan just needs to be a simple 1 day, 1 leg roundtrip and use a time of day when you won't see them flying (4:00 a.m or something). They will sit parked the rest of time. Hope it helps.Regards, Kendall#1: E6750@3.2GHZ/Coolermaster HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tracers PC6400 Seagate 250GB 7200.10 SATA2 Gigabyte X800XT -Cat 6.12's CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's

Have it or them "fly" only once a week - in the wee hours of the morning when your computer is likely not on - and they will appear to be static. There is a great tutorial here at Avsim that walks you through the process of making "almost static" traffic.Look for fs9stat.zip by Patrick Finch.Hope this helps

Or...You can add gobs of them like I did and most of them sit around anyways so no matter what time of day you fly there is always some AI activity. I have, as of today, 68142 general aircraft and airline (including MS default traffic) worldwide, and 680 military CONUS flights to and from 89 different airbases. There is always plenty of planes on the ground (and in the air) wherever I go. I think I need more military flights to make it more realistic but, oh, well. I had a few hundred helicopter flights (US only) but they sank into the ground up to their bellies after sitting a while and I haven't figured out that problem so I took them off for now.Dolph

If you set the times at 00:00:00, they will never take off. I do it all the time if I want the a/c to just sit there.KJ

Please clarify -Set departure and arrival times at 00:00:00 for BOTH legs ?I am aware that FS will ignore the second leg if the times are the same as the first leg. Thanks in advance.
