Mine seems to be working well now - I will try the remapping tomorrow, although I only have a 1 Megabyte Broadband connection - so I don't know if I will get the same results as you. I have had to turn down the connection speed for Service 3 as I was getting "can't connect" messages in the TP DOS box - but I am very impressed with this TP, even for FS9. I have been flying around the Seattle area - what with realtime weather and trying to fly around the mountains in a C172, it is very challenging really and does introduce a true to life element into the Sim.I have posted your images of Brisbane over onto the VOZ forum - hope you don't mind. March 9, 200818 yr Ok, I have followed your guide but tileproxy still does not work, I start Tileproxy and I get the message Tileproxy is ready for takeoff, start FS load a flight and get what's in 186226.jpg, and close FS and look at the tileproxy screen and I get whats in 186227.jpg. Please help!

When using GE, external to tileproxy or FS, I can see much more detail than I can using the config below. I see non-distinct shapes via TP, when using the service with a browser I can see fine details. If you have the min/max set at 5-19 (15 LOD levels) then your Level_Mapping should have 15 digits as well:level_mapping=5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19However, unless you plan to actually do some "re-mapping" of a level or two as in these examples:level_mapping=5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,19level_mapping=5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,18,19,19then you might as well just DISABLE the Level_Mapping altogether with a # sign like so:#level_mapping=5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19Secondly, if a max_level=19 is what you are trying download then also make sure you set your max_lod= at the top of the ini file to max_lod=17 ("LOD 17" is equivilent to "level 19"). Lastly if you are using the latest Beta 7 you can also set the preload_max_lod to 17 too. Remember if you decide to return to the default LOD of 15 (max_level=17) to change everything back again.Personally, I set up several different ini files for different settings and simply switch them out when I want to change parameters so it's quick and easy. Finally be aware the high resolution levels you are are seeking to download cause a big performance hit and require longer download times, and that in itself can cause DL problems, let alone trying to re-map high levels (not recommended unless your rig and net connection are top notch). March 12, 200818 yr Again, thank you for the info. I'm having trouble really understanding the levels issue and when "19" cropped up in some of the posts I think I really went off track! I've got a fairly competent dual core rig with 4 gigs of ram with a decent video card (never fast enough though) and am amazed at the detail achieved with slow flight. I just can't seem to find the right config to see the level of detail while flying or even hovering paused, as I can see using the g....e... software. It's a bit frustrating because I know that I'm not configured to utilize the highest resolution obtainable. I'll keep fiddling, as always. Also, how does one identify the map version so as to include it in the ini file? I wonder if anyone else experiences this - while flying low and slow and looking forward out of the cockpit the images are typically bright and clear, but if I look sideways out of the window, they are noticeably sharper in detail. When looking forward, the panel blocks much of your view, so the litttle portion of the ground you see is pretty far ahead. When looking through the side window, on the other hand, you can pretty much look straight down (given a high wing aircaft). Now FSX loads scenery in LOD rings centered at the aircraft's current position, which means the sharpest images are always right below you (or even slightly behind if the aircraft moved ahead since the last loading pass). What you see through the windshield is almost always one or two resolution levels lower. Except maybe when you set your LOD radius to ridiculously high values (like 8, maybe), but then you will see no sharp images at all, because TileProxy simply won't be able to keep up anymore.You also have to keep in mind that, at many locations, GE has much higher resolution imagery than what can be accessed via their web based service, which TileProxy uses. To get a realistic expectation of what is possible at QMID level 17 (which corresponds to LOD 15, and which, in my opinion is the highest usable resolution for anything faster than a brisk walking speed ;) ), open maps.g****e.com at your favorite location, zoom all the way in, and then zoom two clicks out again. For QMID level 19 (which corresponds to LOD 17), just zoom all the way in. For any other level you might be interested in, just count down the clicks zooming out. This works the same way with the other major service from Redmond, by the way. However, the highest zoom level available via Y!'s web front end is 17.

But when loadingservice example 1,2 or 4, TileProxy is trying to conect to loadbalancer.sevicename.com and i get black tiles. Nothing changed to the module_config statement. August 1, 200817 yr this happens when the service names in the bracket sections e.g. [ Service Example 1 ]do not match up exactly with the names found in the [ Tileproxy ] section. Then Tileproxy falls back to defaults, which include some default strings like "loadbalancer.servicename.com"Compare those service names and fix any mismatches please.In my config files I've renamed them to their proper names anyway. Just don't forget to replace all of the string occurences (search/replace in a text editor like Notepad or Wordpad is fine)Christian
