Fly Tampa Freeware

Featured Replies

On flightsim.com there's recently been added to the file library a freeware version of their Dubai - flytamdu.zip.Does anyone know what's up? Seems too good to be true to me.

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

It is being discussed on the fly-tampa and flightsim.com FS9 forum. I viewed the package (zipdive) and by using the file dates I suspect author original files are mixed with the package ones. I think the the uploader meant to offer add-ons to it but mistakenly included his entire installation. A clue is the included scenery.dat file.Since this product is offered for sale, I suspect the upload is in error and violation of copywrite. I notified the webmaster (the library moderator) but being a holiday weekend I suspect the message has not been seen to determine if any action is needed.

Hmmm, that is interesting. I just read that parts of the scenery are now open source see this. I have not downloaded it and installed so I cannot comment further.I hope it is a legitmate freeware release.EDITDoesn't look so, see this.

I have removed it completely from my system. Honest - you'll have to take my word on that. To be honest, it didn't look too great, lots of shimmers - though that's probably something wrong with my system rather than Fly Tampa.

Must be your system. It is some of the best scenery Fly Tampa has done and is well worth the purchase if you fly in that area. The interior s of the terminal are also modeled. I flew through them last night so I know. :(

It was removed by the moderator pending investigation. I pointed him to this thread as well as one on flightsim and fly-tampa. If investigation yields there is no violation then it will be put back.
