MegaScenery-MegaCity series

Featured Replies

I have Ground Environment Pro, FS Genesis, and the Ultimate Terrain series and was thinking about adding the MegaScenery-MegaCity series (specifically Atlanta and the NE version including DC and Baltimore). My question is whether or not the MegaScenery series is worth it and what will it replace from the list I already have. Thanks in advance!RH

It's mesh and terrain with photo real ground textures slapped on top of them. They look really good in a low and slow plane (say at 5000 feet and 120kts). If your flying airliners keep your money in your pocket.I had quite a few of them (and still do), the PNW was my favorite but I fly mostly airliners and on my last couple of formats have not put them back on.

HiI have the Mid Atlantic, Atlanta, and Dallas-Ft. Worth packages and like them all. I fly in a full size LJ45 sim and I think they are great. They make even the non-detailed airports look better since they add lots more ground textures-wise to the areas surrounding the airports. If they offered the whole US for FS9 like they are trying to do with MegaEarth for FSX, then I would buy it even at the FS9 resolution.

"Is this FSX or FS9, I can't tell anymore???"

Not to me personally, although many others are wild about them.I have the Atlanta and DC/Baltimore area as well as Hawaii. I am a bit disappointed in them, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.Good luck:RTH

I have their D.C. scenery and I like it as I used to live there. I added Washington National Airport (ooops, I mean Ronald Reagan National), from Cloud9 when they had a 1/2 price sale. Man, they did a great job on the airport. Used to ride my bike to the rwy19 threshold and just lay down on the grass as incoming heavies skimmed overhead. Guess they probably don't allow that anymore. Also added some free, hi-res scenery of the Washington Mall by Scott Smart found here at the AVSIM library. They combo of it all makes for one great thrill ride when following the Potomac River towards Rwy19. I'd say go for it.Clutch

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Wow, interesting. I really dig the DC area. How did you manage to do all that. Which did you add first, or does it matter. I guess I am trying to figure how to work the FS9 scenery library, or should I just leave it alone and let the individual programs load themselves.

Does it matter in what order you install these programs?RH
