Hi Floris, the short format for that waypoint is: 3430N.For every quadrant there is a short format, XXXXW, XXXXS, XXXXE, XXXXN. This is according to ICAO guidance for the oceanic LAT/LONG waypoints. In any other case, you will have to use the decimals. For info: there was already another thread discussing this issue. And also here:link:TOM
Sorry, but you are wrong. You do not have to use decimals. In the real aircraft we always use the format Nxxxx/Wxxxxx

BTW PMDG how much longer do we have to wait for the next patch for fsx. Also can you all confirm this- will you fix all the lights i.e. the landing lights, taxi lights, and dome lights.

No, I am not :( May be you are not wrong either. Are there different FMS versions?? In the real aircraft we have to use the decimals! This is correct- see the original honeywell FMS guide 4.1.3. Lat/Long Waypoint, if you have this available. ( revision 8, October 1997).Can u confirm that the short format i.e. 5350N is working for u in the real aircraft? If yes, why would u use N5300/W05000? I cant understand why you do that?

:( I think we can use the short format, but most people (or all?) are using the other format. Maybe because it's easier to read during position report? Less error-prone? Too lazy to think about short formats? I don't know :)I know one thing for sure, and that is we do not have to use decimals in our FMS :(
