How to save entrees on the "FIX"-Page
Hi Paul: to you it is not meaningful- ok.To me it is! Especially in a simulator it makes a lot of sense, since repeating + training is a main application of a SIM.Why would you judge something, which you might not understand? It would just save time for certain setups (i.e. special EOSID)- and it costs just a few bytes.

How to save entrees on the "FIX"-Page
That is the problem Michael. Also with the FSX version!

How to save entrees on the "FIX"-Page
Hi Steve, thanks for your answer! But that is not what I want to do: I just want to make an entree on the fix page and this should be saved to the flightplan as well as all other data from the FMS- thats all.RGDS.

PMDG BAe JetStream 4100 Released!
Hi Sam, thanks for the nice video! I am using the 2d cockpit only (in other planes). What I am wondering is, how are you able to fly precisely a certain speed in the VC in the JS 4100? You have to zoom in to read the gauges well enough, right? Thanks!

Cruising pitch(MD-11)
Hi Joshua: 2,5 degrees aircraft nose up is normal.RGDS

MD-11 High Altitude Operations
Hi Robin, it is the outflow-valve, not the dump valve (there are fuel dump valves though). :( Just a wording thing, never mind! :( To your question: system limitation, max takeoff and landing altitude 10000ft. Observe the max tire speed 204kts, as Paul said. After all, it does not make a lot of sense to go there with an MD-11 in real life.RGDS

Various tests
Fuel + HYD Panel: you will check, if it is in Auto Mode. Normally, they are in Auto Mode (all panels/ systems are in auto, should be). Thats it. Gear Handle: Pull it out (NOT to up!) to check the red lights on the center panel and on the CONFIG page.RGDS

Various tests
Hi John, what do you mean by STATIC AIR and Overboost? They dont require an actual test, correct? You mean a visual inspection of the correct switch/ bar position?RGDS

Various tests
Just for info:Cargo Door Test is initiated automatically with 1st fuel switch on. If the test is not running (or you have missed noticing it:-)), then you have to do it manually. You have to do also: ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT TEST, ENG/ APU FIRE TEST, selecting the IRUs will initiate the CRG FIRE TEST on cargo planes, COCKPIT VOICE RECORDER, ATC TRANSPONDER/ TCAS......and some more....which of those are simulated, I dont know:-))RGDS

MD-11 flying visual circuits
Hi, you mean DUAL LAND right? Can you post some screenshots of the Appr, may be that will help... Paul, you are aware of the "safe panel state" function? From there you just reload that panel and fly again. This is the easiest way right now. There is a different way for traffic pattern with touch + go landings. If you need to know this, send me a msg with the aerodrome you are using. Or check the manual again, may be it is explained there.RGDS

Just type: 5720N 5730N and so on RGDS

MD-11 Engine Start
It is NOT possible in RL. Beside other reasons, the APU is to weak to do that. I.E. on high elevation airports and/ or high OATs you will get most likely an alert concerning insufficient bleed-pressure, while starting only 1 ENG at a time.RGDS

Approach profile MD11
No, you are correct to fly Vmin + 20kts in clean config, Slats extended and Flaps 15. The amber foot (band) will move to higher speed during a turn. The 20kts will give you an additional margin while manouvering/ turning (higher g-load= higher Vstall). The moving band is not simulated in the sim though!RGDS The pitch will get as high as 10 degrees (high weight, with minmum speed with slats or FL 15).

Approach profile MD11
Looks pretty good except for a "standard" GS intercept ALT of 4000ft to 3000ft you would use FL 28 Vmin +5 speed and approaching the OM select FL35 Vref + 5 and/or wind correction. You should be established at latest 1000ft AGL. Remember that if you plan a FL 50 landing- it will take a while for the flaps to extend! But flying more conservative is never a mistake:-)

how to disable the md11 high/low speed protection
I have a question: why do you want to do that? Just curious:-)RGDS
-
MD11 Rate of climb?
Yes it is. As for the PMDG Sim- I usually dont fly that high (do mostly approaches and pattern). I will try if I have time and let you know.RGDS
-
MD11 Rate of climb?
Hi Paul, thanks for your reply! As for the real plane, you will not notice anything significant at/ above FL 200.
-
MD11 Rate of climb?
What are you talking about if I may ask you, the real plane??Let's say FL 330 in 14 mins- this means an average of 2300ft/min+. Not bad right:-)I have no idea what is changing at FL 200, I have never noticed any significant change out of the ordinary at that point. I am flying the MD-11 for more than a decade.Which engines has your plane, can you back up that statement with some official data?@ Egbert: FL200 in 6 mins with 200 tons is no problem at all!RGDS

Decision Height
Alan: may be recheck before you do that: CAT 2 with a DH of 200ft??, CAT3a with 100ft??
