I knew there would come a day that fellow simmers would be able to run FSX at high settings with good performance! It got down right nasty when FSX first came out about the performance and it looks like that will all be a thing of the past. You will love it!

When FSX came out I think I had a P4 @2.8GHz and an ATI 850 with only 256MB, and 2Gigs system RAM, no wonder it stuttered ...Heck I remember envying a younger simmer who's rich father bought him a P3 running at an amazung 500 MHz to run FS98.........Now I see some geeks have overclocked the futured i7-975 to 5.2+ GHz ? You do! I realize that I need to start saving up the money needed to build my self a new pc next year. This is a never ending story :( But, maybe it is ending with FSX :(

I'm intending to order my new PC too this weekend. UGH! :) Even the D0 920 wouldn't be bad but the 950 is a nice hope....

I still have hopes for MSFS. I think it's just going to be a longer hiatus until we see FSXI.

Looking further ahead, what will 32nm cpu bring to FSX? More cores, more overclock? Too early to tell perhaps, but fun to try to piece together from available information.RegardsSimon

I cant understand why Intel would not set the Extreme version at 4GHz,Everyone seems to run the i7 920 at 3.8 to 4.2 GHz, why announce a 975 at 3.33GHz?

Is it worth the upgrade from a stock E6850 @ 3ghz with 4gig pc800 ddr2 ram to one of the new i7 with ddr3?Wonder how much performance gain I would get in FSXthanks
