Been flying it for months, was my favorite plane before the 727 surfaced. Check CS forums for problems though, it has a few.

There's an unofficial CS Forum here on AVSIM and that may be what the previous poster, Ron was talking about. Plenty of info about it there.Jim

Not to take away from the original thread, but I have been considering the 757 OR the 727 (for FSX). Your thoughts, PPSFA?

Man thats like asking if I prefer blondes or brunette's!!! Visually they are both stunning. One is 'steam gauge' era, the other is glass. The 757 definately has a few bugs, they are fixable but for most they are there. The bottom line for me is I like them both, but I'm a sucker for a realistic cockpit, and these both have it. IMHO CS sets the bar for cockpits, regardless of the rest of their percieved problems. With the sale they are having now, I'd get em all :(

There are several threads on this already. There is no comparison between the MD-11 and 757. PMDG is miles ahead of Captain Sim and well worth the price difference. The 757 has a nasty bug with the FMC that will CTD you if you use the FMC extensively. Also the navdata isn't current. They are supposedly working on both of these issues and will hopefully release a patch sometime in the next 3 years (approximately).Lets just say I'm bummed I paid full price as the 757 sits in my hangar collecting dust until they fix it.

The FPS in 757 captainsim are really not good, especially the 2D panel. It brought my locked 25 fps down to almost 5. I tried to attach some other panel to it but then i had no gear and all animations, like emergency exits opened, APU intake etc.

The FPS for the CS757 is pretty similar to the MD-11 in my rig. I don't have the FMC problem so I still fly it frequently. The VC is top notch as you can see from their screenshots. I read in the forums at Navigraph that they fixed the last few bugs in the nav database and CS is testing it now so hopefully will see update soon.

I just recently purchased the CS757 Pro Pack and was pleasantly surprised at the level of complexity it offers. While perhaps not as polished as some other addons, nevertheless, it seems to be a good value. And, it's hard to beat the good looks of a 757, especially with winglets.I've had the CTD several times when altering flight plans in the FMC. Boy I hope they get that fixed. As a minor point, the ground handling behavior seems quite good. It just feels like a larger aircraft when taxiing. The FPS impact seems to be in line with the Super80 Pro and MD-11 I fly also. Which is to say, it's quite good on my machine.Being on sale, I wouldn't think a person could go wrong.Noel WBrisbane

Thanks for the replies everyone.I bought it last night.I guess I should read the manuals in more detail.I noticed on a short flight from Toronto to Montreal that the chocks were attached, and some trailing lines near the nose.Don't know if I was messing with the simicons or animation icon before this happenedIs this one of those aircraft where they recommend loading the default Cessna before loading the CS757?ron :(

I have never had to load a default plane first for any addon, including the one the Flight 1 Mustang reccomends. What I do do however, is load the 172 once, configure it the way I want all planes to start, then save it. From that point on I never load it again, but all planes start with the same configuration. As far as the chocks etc, I forget which one it is, but there is an icon for all the eyecandy to enable/disable it. The forum I listed above has a lot of user feedback and info in it and well worth the time to check it out.

Regarding the chocks and pitot tube covers...I believe the "A" icon gives you the menu to control these items, plus doors etc. Also, I initially had an issue where the Ram Air Turbine was unlocked all of the time. As soon as I lifted off, the RAT would deploy. It's a bug, but can be worked around by loading a default FS airplane, shutting everything down, ending that flight, and starting a new flight with the CS757. I save this 'cold & dark scenario' for the next time. It's a work around, and I only have to do it for the CS757, but not a big deal for me. It would be nice to see it fixed.Noel WBrisbane

I had the same problem Noel and solved it the same way.The instant CTD when selecting a STAR TRANS is a real PITA. Hopefully the forthcoming 4.3 patch will solve this.
