Missing gauges in Waco UPF 7

Featured Replies

Hello to all. I have downloaded Tim Conrad's Waco UPF 7 updated for FSX. He sys that it is NOT tested in Vista or DirectX. I have both and it flys a treat and I love the plane but it is missing two gauges, one in the center at the top of the panel (on the lip of the cockpit) and the other in the first row on the far left. I don't know what they are and it would be nice to have them. I would send a screen shot, but I don't know how. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Best to all, Fritz

Hi Fritz.I've had this bird for a long time and am very pleased with it. It is a long time since I solved the problem with the gauges, but from memory all you need to do is to copy a couple of gauge files from their respective panel folders to the Gauges folder found in the root directory. If you open up the panel.cfg file for the UPF-7 and look at the bottom of the page you'll see three gauge entries which reference gauges not necessarily available to the file. They are the Cessna208B_XML.cab, the AirCreation_582SL.cab, and the Cessna.dll. The Cessna.dll may already be in the main Gauges folder but you'll have to look for the other two and copy them over to this folder.Good luck, and welcome to AVSIM.

The gauges you are missing came from the FS9 Lockheed Vega (Lockheed_Vega!ammeter from Lockheed_Vega.cab) and the FS9 Ford Trimotor (Ford_Trimotor!magnetic_compass from Ford_Trimotor.cab). You'll need to access your FS9 installation and get the .cab gauge files from those planes and copy them to your FSX\Gauges directory. Then you should be all set.Edit - Hmm, just read the entry from the person who posted at the same time as me. Not sure why we list different gauges. I may have edited the gauge file at one point to add those gauges, though they do seem consistent with a plane from that period. Here's my panel.cfg file for the default configuration:// This Panel.cfg file created by FS Panel Studio panel editor utility - http://www.fspanelstudio.com// Built Friday, July 14, 2006 at 23:47 FSPS Build:18222[Window Titles]Window00=Main PanelWindow01=radiosWindow02=l_consoleWindow03=GPSWindow04=MINIPANEL//--------------------------------------------------------[Window00]file=upf7_panel.bmp size_mm=1280window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=1ident=MAIN_PANELwindow_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=SimIcons1024!ATC Icon, 358,636,25,25gauge01=SimIcons1024!GPS Icon, 383,636,25,25gauge02=SimIcons1024!Map Icon, 408,636,25,25gauge03=SimIcons1024!Electrical Panel Icon, 433,636,25,25gauge04=UPF-7!airspeed, 389,675,150,151gauge05=UPF-7!altimeter, 741,678,150,151gauge06=UPF-7!VSI, 736,827,150,151gauge07=UPF-7!ahi, 568,675,150,151gauge08=UPF-7!G_Meter, 247,831,109,110gauge09=UPF-7!Heading Indicator, 567,827,150,151gauge10=UPF-7!manifold_pressure, 1048,753,118,118gauge11=UPF-7!Turn Coordinator, 391,827,158,158gauge12=UPF-7!Oil_Pressure, 1042,896,118,126gauge13=Extra-300!Starter, 0,928,102,90gauge14=Lockheed_Vega!ammeter, 246, 700 ,109,109gauge15=Cessna!VOR1, 896,694,150,150gauge16=UPF-7!RPM, 893,866,150,150gauge17=UPF-7!cyl_temp, 1160,902,118,118gauge18=Ford_Trimotor!magnetic_compass, 578,516,124,126gauge19=UPF-7!Fuel_Quantity, 78,761,150,151gauge20=SimIcons1024!Radio Icon, 458,636,25,25gauge21=UPF-7!Battery Switch, 103,944,51,71gauge22=UPF-7!Nav Lights, 154,944,51,71gauge23=UPF-7!Landing Lights, 205,944,51,71gauge24=UPF-7!Panel Lights, 257,944,51,71gauge25=UPF-7!Pitot Icing Switch, 308,944,51,71gauge26=UPF-7!primer, 13,853,62,62gauge27=UPF-7!carb_heat, 362,957,62,62//--------------------------------------------------------[Window01]file=upf7_radios.bmp size_mm=450window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=0ident=RADIO_STACK_PANELwindow_size= 0.460, 0.187window_pos= 0.530, 0.800gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 3,24,187,71gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 190,24,187,58gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 209,87,156,41gauge03=SimIcons1024!Radio Icon, 12,4,19,19//--------------------------------------------------------[Window02]file=upf7_l_console.bmp size_mm=450window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=0ident=125window_size= 0.440, 0.165window_pos= 0.010, 0.820gauge00=UPF-7!Fuel_Selector, 21,9,135,135gauge01=SimIcons1024!Electrical Panel Icon, 181,4,19,19gauge02=UPF-7!Pitch Trim, 199,51,239,51//--------------------------------------------------------[Window03]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=456,378window_size_ratio=1.000 position=8visible=0ident=GPS_PANELwindow_size= 0.500, 0.500window_pos= 0.500, 0.490gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,456,378//--------------------------------------------------------[Window04]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=828,150window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=1ident=MINIPANELwindow_size= 0.809, 0.195window_pos= 0.096, 0.805child_3d=1gauge00=UPF-7!airspeed, 192,0,150,150gauge01=UPF-7!ahi, 342,0,142,147gauge02=UPF-7!altimeter, 484,0,150,150//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit01]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=256,256visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$upf7_vc_01gauge00=UPF-7!airspeed, 52,2,50,50gauge01=UPF-7!altimeter, 102,2,50,51gauge02=UPF-7!ahi, 2,2,50,51gauge03=UPF-7!manifold_pressure, 103,56,50,50gauge04=UPF-7!VSI, 53,52,50,54gauge05=UPF-7!G_Meter, 203,2,50,50gauge06=UPF-7!Turn Coordinator, 153,56,50,50gauge07=UPF-7!Heading Indicator, 203,56,50,50gauge08=UPF-7!Oil_Pressure, 153,2,50,50gauge09=SimIcons1024!ATC Icon, 4,225,12,12gauge10=SimIcons1024!GPS Icon, 16,225,12,12gauge11=SimIcons1024!Map Icon, 28,225,12,12gauge12=SimIcons1024!Electrical Panel Icon, 5,238,12,12gauge13=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 42,228,69,18gauge14=Extra-300!Starter, 113, 226 ,29,26gauge15=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 165,218,87,33gauge16=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 165,191,87,27gauge17=UPF-7!Battery Switch, 6,196,17,24gauge18=UPF-7!Landing Lights, 23,196,17,24gauge19=UPF-7!Nav Lights, 40,196,17,24gauge20=UPF-7!Panel Lights, 57,196,17,24gauge21=UPF-7!Pitot Icing Switch, 75,196,17,24gauge22=UPF-7!RPM, 3,107,50,50gauge23=Cessna!VOR1, 53,106,50,50gauge24=UPF-7!Fuel_Selector, 103,106,50,50gauge25=UPF-7!cyl_temp, 153,106,50,50gauge26=Lockheed_Vega!ammeter, 203,106,50,50gauge27=Ford_Trimotor!magnetic_compass, 3,56,50,50gauge28=UPF-7!Fuel_Quantity, 103,156,50,50gauge29=UPF-7!Pitch Trim, 5,166,93,19gauge30=SimIcons1024!Radio Icon, 17,238,12,12gauge31=UPF-7!carb_heat, 189,161,22,22gauge32=UPF-7!primer, 164,161,22,22Day=255,255,255Night=220,200,100Luminous=220,200,100[Default View]X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8191SIZE_Y=3991
