Nvidia Drivers--Roll back?

Featured Replies

I remember this being discussed somewhere, but a Google search and Avsim forum search turns up nothing I'm looking for. I'm using the latest (185.85) drivers, but was wondering if there is a better driver set for FS9 in particular. I recall some of the earlier drivers (say 170ish, 182ish) proved to have the best results in FS9. Anyone have an idea? Also, I wonder if I should post this over at the Hardware forum as well?

Is the performance of your PC acceptable? If so, don't mess around wth different drivers because it will only cause your heartache.

On my new FS system I recently updated my 8800GT to the latest drivers. Unfortunatley these just didn't cut it.I found the 182.50 drivers work the best so far and Nhancer has a great FS9 Profile for these drivers as well.

On my 8800GTS I use the 185.85 driver and like it.

Thanks guys. I'll try I'll try the 82. and the 85. in that order and see which works best. I'm also going to test 174.74 and 182.06. Heard those did it too. I'll report back my findings later this evening. Got to go to Phantom of the Opera at the Blumenthal with the girlfriend :(

Well, no marked performance increase with all the mentioned drivers plus a few archived ones from both my computer and the Nvidia archives. Looks like I'll be sticking to the latest.

Nvidia has released 186 drivers (beta) that has cleaned up some of the reported bugs in 185 series. I'm using the 186 with nHancer, after having both 182 and 185 installed (uninstalled by driver sweeper), and am very pleased. However, I'm hoping video drivers in general will meet the demands of faster processors and over clocking both CPUs and GPUs.Rich PerryIntel i7 965 Extreme Edition Quad Core (turbo oc'd to 3.8Ghz)Nvidia GTX 285 2GB GPUOCZ 6GB DDR3 1800Mhz RAMVelRaptor 300GB SATA II HD 10000rpmSB Xi-ExtremeDell 24 1920x1200Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Yeah, I installed 186 last night. I'm happy with it.
I will second that last post, the 186 seems to be better.........but, question, when reading all the fixes with these drivers, Nvdia never makes mention of any specific helps for FS, why not???
