June 15, 200916 yr As the thread title says really... I'm in need of a new joystick after having broken my Saitek Cyborg evo Force Feedback. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a vendor in the UK that actually has these anymore, so it looks like a direct replacement is out of the window.Ideally I'd like something similar and do quite like having FF, I don't want to pay the earth really either so something like the X52 (I know it does not have FF) might be a bit OTT. I have looked at the Logitech equivalent to the Cyborg, but to be honest I'm not that impressed by it and any customer reviews I have read have not been that favourable. On a similar note, any suggestions for good/reputable resellers in the UK for a new joystick would also be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :( Paul Lathwell
June 15, 200916 yr I can't think of a cheap FF stick off hand...I know Logitech is introducing a new G940 line of flight sim products. http://assets.logitech.com/external/logite...0Systems%20G940Other than that maybe you can find an old MS force feedback 2 stick (thats what im using) off ebay or amazon | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

The other downside is tat I really need a new stick right now, broke the shaft on the Saitek.Forgetting the cost can you think of any FF sticks I could at least consider/look into? Or for that matyter do you know of any decent UK places to buy? :( Paul Lathwell
June 16, 200916 yr Sorry...but you just CAN'T BEAT the Microsoft FF2 joystick. I bought one new many years ago, tried many others as they came out....hoping to find something better. I sent every one back to where I purchased it, and kept going back to my Microsoft FF2 stick. IT ONLY WORKS WELL IN FSX WHEN YOU USE RUSSELL DIRK'S INEXPENSIVE SOFTWARE THAT MAKES THE FORCES MUCH MORE REALISTIC. Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped making it, and I'll never, ever know why! It's the best for Flight Simulation.I went to EBay to buy another because I did not want to be without one should my original fail. The buttons on my original started getting funky and I had to press really hard to get them to work. I pulled out the one I bought on EBay for $60, and I'm a happy camper again. Most of the time these sticks are going for over $100 and I've seen them as high as $250 on EBay. That's how much they are revered. But if you are lucky, you'll find someone, as I did, who bought the stick...never really used it, and just wanted to unload it.If you're lucky enough to find a Microsoft FF2 joystick...do not hesitate. Buy it. It's already a collector's item. Stan
June 16, 200916 yr The Cyborg X is great. I went to it from a broken MS FF2, a logitech 3d pro, and a saitek aviator. It is well built and versatile. Some reviews say it feels cheap. I don't get that impression at all. It is also very comfortable. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
June 16, 200916 yr I will all agree to spiloks thread about MS FF2. This stick is a collector's item and also in my opinion THE best stick for MSFS, in a must have combo with Dirks software. I don't have a 2nd one, and when it dies, I will get a yoke (not the cheapo Saitek or CH, but rather PFC) or something, I think nothing else will satisfy me as much as this stick. Find one if ANYHOW possible.EDIT: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=247786
June 28, 200916 yr Commercial Member I just went from a Logitech force feedback wingman 3D to a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. i was getting tired of the rudder problem with the Force feedback. There was just a deadspot I couldn't get rid of regardless or whether or not the power was plugged in or whatever. The Non FF stick is nice with the extra buttons on it although it takes getting used to flying with it after all these years. I have much better control though now with GA aircraft on windy approaches and don't directly dart to the left anymore when touching down on the runway. Was thinking of the new CH flight yoke system with the rudder in the yoke but its a little over my budget at the moment. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
June 28, 200916 yr I just went from a Logitech force feedback wingman 3D to a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.I bought a second Extreme just earlier this year as my old one (about 7 years old) broke. I am far away from being an daily simmer. In fact I have not used FS since weeks - but I'll do today. There are several people complaining about having troubles to calibrate after a while - the same failure at my older stick. BUT: I still think it is a good one and worth it's pretty cheap money. Otherwise I would not have bought a second one ;)

Just a little resetting of the sensitivities. I guess I could try the FSUIPC calibration but I don't see any need for it at this point in time. Im just tring to get used to landing again. I am not to crazy about the little throtttle lever and where it is postioned compared to the older Wingman but thats not a problem. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
