June 21, 200916 yr Recently upgraded my computer and installed FSX, patched to SP1, etc. Found order ID info and installed PMDG MD-11 and patched to v1.20. Trying to follow Tutorial flight but FSX crashes when I try to load MD-11 from "Free Flight" screen (the usual dialogs come up asking if I trust the PMDG DLLs to load, etc. before the crash).Tried uninstalling and reinstall without patch to MD-11 v1.20 - same problem.I have several other add-on aircraft (e.g., Eaglesoft SR22, Wilco/Feelthere Citation X, etc.) and they all load fine. I miss my MD-11!!! Please help!Basic sys info:WinXP Pro SP3Dell XPS1730Intel Core 2 Duo, T9300 @ 2.50 GHz3.00 Gb RAMNVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTThanks!
June 21, 200916 yr Update your drivers for your graphics card. If you have a certain joystick, it might cause FSX to crash, try unplugging it and then loading. Remember, it doesn't always happen to be PMDG's fault, might be your computer. Try another professional computing forum.

June 22, 200916 yr It could be that you're missing some C++ programs that are normally installed during installation of the MD-11. Check your Add/Remove Programs for those. You should have a 2005 and a 2008. Eric [FSX on Windows7 64-bit]
June 22, 200916 yr Thanks for the thoughts, but drivers are all up-to-date as of todayMaybe that's your problem. Latest drivers aren't always the best. Try going back to a driver you were using on your previous machine.Iain Smith
June 23, 200916 yr Thanks all for the input - for anybody finding this thread having a similar problem, PMDG Support came to the rescue with the solution: turns out my DLL.XML file had somehow become corrupted, and offered the following instructions to fix it:1) Locate your DLL.xml file associated with FSX. You will have to enable the
June 25, 200916 yr I strongly suggest you think about using SP2 for FSX as well...It massively improves the performance...And it has been out for some time now, and the benefits outweigh any problems in general...Or is there some specific reason you feel you shouldn't update to SP2?Andrew Andrew Entwistle
