June 26, 200916 yr Hi all, I just put together a different computer. I have FS2004 installed a running very nice and smooth. One problem. If I set my in game screen resolution to 1280X1024 32bit I get a flickering white screen whenever I hit the alt button of whenever the sim loads or goes to a menu. When I switch to 1280X1024 16bit the flash goes away. My desktop resolution is 1280X1024, 32bit. Any ideas? My system specs are P5B MB with a Pentium D 820 CPU, 2gigs of PC6400 ram, BFG 7600 GT OC video card. I never had this problem on my old Dell. I have also tried a couple of different drives with no change. This is not a show stopper but it is pretty annoying. June 27, 200916 yr Strange. I remember ATI cards having this problem with FS9. When I owned a Radeon 9800GT I had the same problem. A driver update fixed the flickers. Play around with the MIP map slider, bring it down some. Other than that, maybe you should try the ATI forums? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
June 28, 200916 yr You might want to back down the overclock on the video card a bit and try it...could be your power supply isn't quite keeping up in the new machine. The 185.XX and 186.XX drivers have been pretty awful for FS. Might try it with 182.52 or thereabouts and see if that improves things, preferably in conjunction with nHancer 3.5.1RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
June 28, 200916 yr Author Bob, I did try turning down the overclock but it seemed to make no difference. I also tried the Omega drivers with no success. I will try the 182.52. June 28, 200916 yr Author Bob, No go on the older drivers & the nHancer. When I switch to any 32bit resolution I get the flashing. June 28, 200916 yr Author Bob, Yes to all. I tried nHancer but it did not seem to do anything. Also I was not really sure how to set it up. I do appreciate the help but I am about to just chalk it up to a crappy video card. Pat Is your screen resolution also set to 1280x1024x32 in the nVidia Control Panel? Do you have VSync enabled? June 29, 200916 yr Author Ray, How much of this applies to FS2004? June 29, 200916 yr The document is for setting up FSX Pat but the setting up of either XP or Vista is a useful guide, plus Nhancer can be used for FSX or FS2004...just type Flight Simulator 2004 in the box instead of Flight Simulator X. I thought the Nhancer guide would give you a better idea of how to set it all up.Ray
