July 14, 200916 yr John, By the way, have you managed to merge PMDG and Posky 747-400?I have and it was generally flyable, but not as nice as it should be.As far as I remember I got this famous config message, plus some AP instability (swinging) and slight engine fluctuation. If you happen to have a fully successful merge, I'd love to try it one day.Best regards

Why would you merge it with Opensky's stuff? You'll have no VC, an inaccurate flight model, and many other problems. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
July 14, 200916 yr Why would you merge it with Opensky's stuff? You'll have no VC, an inaccurate flight model, and many other problems.Always the same questions.... :( But OK, let me get my point briefly:When I fly in the VC I sure need no merge and use no merge. When I feel like having a more entertaining flight (in the 2D cockpit) combined with making screens and videos, I'd prefer the Posky model. It looks better (in my view), has gorgeous animations and excellent wing views. Looks great when captured and filmed or just enjoyed. As for the FD, a decent merge, in my opinion, is the one that uses the panel donor's FD (and the air file, of course). Hence my question to John.Best regards
July 15, 200916 yr John, By the way, have you managed to merge PMDG and Posky 747-400?Rafal - I don't own the PMDG 744, so I've never looked into a potential merge. I'd be curious to know if a Posky merged version would have better framerates than the original, which is reputed to be a little heavy in that department. I do enjoy the RFP 742 panel with the Posky V4 model, although that merge was a bit of a saga. :( John G.
July 15, 200916 yr Thanks anyway, John! I'd be curious to know if a Posky merged version would have better framerates than the original, which is reputed to be a little heavy in that departmentWell, yes though concerning its complexity, could be worse. Another story is the OOM problem that I got usually with this PMDG bird on finals.I do enjoy the RFP 742 panel with the Posky V4 model, although that merge was a bit of a sagaTrue, I did enjoy it too. My main merging problem was not being able to get the engines on although I followed the checklist step by step. But, as far as I remember, it was only with one engine variant. Now I'm not flying RFP as CS757 made me hooked on VC flying (with TrackIR). But knowing myself I can say I will be back in the 2D environment! :( Best regards
