Icing effects are not only visual. They said it before.

I did a quick search on "icing" on the forum and didn't find anything. Can you point me to where it was mentioned?-kyle

This was brought up in a previous thread, and this was the response from Vin Scimone:

We can, but it won't be ready for prime time (we really wan't to get this plane to all of you, so we won't delay its release for something as trivial as landing lights. This plane is just too much fun to fly to taxi around looking at an illuminated runway anyway smile.gif ). Expect it in a future update, or certainly in future products.
This was pulled from this thread:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=259222So perhaps?? That would be wicked!

I'd love to see the lighting and rain effects implemented in a patch if it wouldn't be too much, but I'd rather get the JS-41 right away than wait to get a few extras. There's a privately owned L-39 based at the same airport I fly out of (CYFD), I may have to pick that Lotus addon up at some point, but the JS-41 comes first for sure :(
