Recommended Posts

Hi there!I have this problem that I apparently share with many others. My lights, smokeeffects and waterspalshes on wet runways ect. are all comming in squares.I have tried surfing this forum for ansaws, and doing so learned that many others have the same issues.Unfortnatly no one has come up with a solution to this problem. Some of it is for sure DX10 related, but unchecking the "DX10 prewiev", does not solve it alone. :( So once again..; Has anyone found the magic code to this issue? What couldt be the bug?I

PedeFrom:http://groups.google.com/group/alt.games.microsoft.flight-sim/browse_thread/thread/5a3b95b9006fe32cSometimes the square light etc is a symptom of a missing texture tile that the effect needs. Try putting this line in your fsx.CFG [sCENERY] section: ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 That should tell you what texture is needed. Then you can go from there. Set the value to "0" to disable the alert. This is quite a good tip as it will eliminate a missing texture as being the cause.NickN Guru-extraordinaire posted on this topic here: http://forums1.avsim.net/lofiversion/index.php/t65089.htmlRegardsPeterH

Just load the sim up and fly, you will get a pop up box appearing telling you which texture is missing at that moment in time and you have to click on the OK button before the sim will continue on again.

Cheers, Andy.

Unfortunatly my squares are fully intact and no popups about missing files.Shouldt I try to write this "ShowMissingTextureAlert=1" in other sections of the FSX.CFG?PM
