August 20, 200916 yr Hi,Great photo's and the first shot is fantastic! Does K5 actually use the aircraft for traffic reporting or is that just a flying billboard? I'm assuming these are all Kenmore Air aircraft?Mike
August 20, 200916 yr Author Hi,Great photo's and the first shot is fantastic! Does K5 actually use the aircraft for traffic reporting or is that just a flying billboard? I'm assuming these are all Kenmore Air aircraft?MikeHi Mike,Thanks for the comments.K5 (KING tv channel 5) is the local NBC affiliate in Seattle. They have a half hour show titled "Evening Magazine"The following is quoted directly from their website."Evening Magazine" remains a local favorite highlighting the people, places and events that make the Northwest so special. The long-running program has provided a window on the Northwest for more than 3,000 "evenings" since its premiere in the summer of 1986. John Curley is the show's host. "Maggie," our Kenmore Air Seaplane, allows us to expand our daily destinations to a 300 mile radius. Once a week John Curley flies off to spectacular locations such as the New Dungeness Lighthouse, where you can be a caretaker, or Jones Island in the San Juans where deer eat right out of your hand. The original Maggie (Maggie...magazine...catchy huh?) was a Beaver, familiar to all who have the Aerosoft Beaver for FS9.She has been replaced by Maggie 2, the turbine Otter pictured above. So to answer your question, no they don't use it for traffic but they do use it for Evening Magazine, and yes it is a flying billboard. And yes all these planes are in the Kenmore Air fleet.thanks again,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
