Controller's Information Display On The Screen

Featured Replies

We are not talking about the standard RC Display box.WE are referenced, to the red text on a green background, that displays the controllersinformation on a seperate display lines(s). This is actived by opening the RC window, check General.check on DISPLAY TEXT.The controller gives the audio message and then displays the same message in the red text, on green background. The problem: The last word or last number, in the audio, does not display. Audio - Lear Romero Charlie Clearance On REPORT.Display - Lear Romero Charlie Clearance On. The word REPORT is not displayed. Now, push the key 7 for acknowledge, and the word REPORT is displayed on the green line and stays there untilthe controller gives the next audio message, then the word REPORT is deleted and the new message is displayed, except the next word.....I have your clearance, advise when ready to COPY. COPY is not displayed. Push 7 and the word COPYis displayed as a stand alone red text. This cycle continues until the display driver get tired and then stops displaying. The audio continues a 5x5, just no display.THIS IS REFERENCED TO ONLY THE CONTROLLERS INFORMATION DISPLAY, RED TEXT ON A GREEN BACKGROUND.On occasion, we have changed the red text to a white text--same problem. We have changed the aircraft, voice controllers and pilot voice--same problem.Vista 32 SP2FSX SP2Fsuipc 4.52 RegisteredRC 4.3.3845No AdvDisplay in FSX ModulesBill T (Popi)Any Solutions!

no idea. have you tried to make the green background area wider?

You can try editing FSUIPC.ini first making a backup. While these can be set with FSUIPC running, you might find the direct edit more convenient. Here's my text settings but I do not use the display text option. The Show Multiline Window is mandatory for RC. You can experiment with the others but I believe they are correct.ShowMultilineWindow=YesSuppressSingleline=NoSuppressMultilineFS=NoWhat happens if you right click on the green window? Are there any sizing and/or docking options? Try a horizontal or vertical expansion.I have not used RC4 for quite a while being buried in RC5 testing so I'm fuzzy on this.

jd ronzieThe Greenline has been expanded both vertical and hortizontal.Clicking he mouse left does nothing: the right click offers undocking and hiding.ronzie I have the same settings, as shown in your E-mail.I has only one change. White Messages=YESI did have a Hot Key for switching the standard RC Display Box, on and off, but I has removed itI has the problem, with and without the Hot Key.I has looked at ever line in the FSUIPC.ini and edited a few of them and changed them back to the default settings.Go over to SimFlight Forums/ Petes Dowson's FS Modules/ Radar Connect Displays Truncated - by Popi Sat Aug15I tried to discuss this with Pete but it looks likes he has never used he controller display and did not want to continue.OK. now, if FSUIPC does not control the display, does FSX control? There must be some kind of an engine display, generating this display.Bill T Popi

I'm an FS9 user. I fired up FS and RC4 and already had the display text turned on. I requested a weather briefing and all words appeared using one or two two lines with pauses. The last word was not clipped although it was briefly displayed due to the looping nature of the weather briefing. I do not have advdisplay installed. I did size the window for three lines to add a safety margin. So we are in different environments. With FSX since you are getting partial display and the performance it requires perhaps that is a problem. I assume you have IFR training off in RC. Try it with no AI present just to make sure nothing is stepping on RC ATC toes. No, the display does not show AI messages but this is just to insure a lower performance load. Turn off prerecorded chatter.I assume you have the comms and not the co-pilot.Not having FSX I can't really duplicate your conditions.

That's really not fair. It is not so much 'not wanting', as not really being involved -- FSUIPC is merely the messenger, not the activator. It just forwards the messages onto FS, that's all. The requesting program specifies whether it scrolls or not and if not, how long it should stay displayed. These things are also passed on. FSUIPC has a built-in limit on the message length of 128 characters, so anything longer would be truncated in any case. If another message arrives it replaces the last one because it is simply passed on to FS again. That's it. That's all I can say. These are things the programmers who use the facility know.If JD finds something odd happening which he thinks might be an FSUIPC or FSX bug, I'm sure he'd let me know. But I cannot undertake to support every FSUIPC-using application -- there are hundreds and I'd never get anything else done nor succeed since i don't have debug access to applications. I always try help when requested by the authors.RegardsPete

I have the comms.AI Chatter--OFFPreRecorded Chatter--OFFIFR Training--OFFI replaced the graphic card--Same problem.I installed the original graphic card-- Same problem. It is time to walk away from this problem, with this computer.I have two other computers, with XP PRO OS's. When I get time, I will install one with FSX and one with FS9. I believe that RC was working in both of them. Why? Just for fun I guess.I have seven people in my family, five computers , so there is some time sharing here. The family song is "When am I going to get my own computer". Thanks for using your time and your input.Bill Taylor
