August 18, 200916 yr About 3 years ago I installed a program named "Freight Dogs" that gave you the ability to take freight from one location to another. It added a little something differnant to the small aircraft's flight. I fly mosty my Level-D 767 to and from Aerosoft's AES supported airports but then change up for a while I fly smaller aircraft. I had "Freight Dogs" installed on a computer about 3 years ago running FS2004. Last year I got a new computer and decided yesterday to reinstall "Freight Dogs" to it. ( be SURE to KEEP your OLD email address and passwords and installation keys). It installed OK but during the installation it asked me if I had "FS CARGO"? I did not and don't remember hearing of this program. After the installation I googed this "FSCargo" and was interested in it. I bought it today from Simmarket and installed it. Before installing this FSCargo, I UNINSTALLED Freight Dogs. The question is what does one program have to do with the other, if anything? I sucessfully flew one of the "trail" FSCargo flights and it was really neat how it will "pick up" the cargo from off of the runway and then at your destination, you can "unload" it to the cargo area of this airport. Are these TWO DIFFERANT programs ?? Will they work togather on the same computer? Why, when installing Freight Dogs, would it ask me if I also had FS Cargo??? Can anyone explain to me what , if anything, one program has to do with the other???? Thanks jerrycwo4
August 18, 200916 yr It might have something to do with the fact the scenery area included in Freight Dogs is in proximity to the scenery areas included in products Misty Fjords and Tongass Fjords. Those titles are published by FSAddon; the same that publishes FSCargo. When installing Freight Dogs, I belive the world areas of Freight Dogs are added to the VistaMare folder in MSFS. They can then be read and included by the FSCargo program. (I may be all wet here; if I am, someone jump in...) The two programs, along with Misty Fjords and Tongass Fjords, work well together for an immersive experience... Rick
August 20, 200916 yr Hi,Freight Dogs was made by us (FSAddon Publishing) for Aerosoft GmbH in Germany. We made custom airfields for it and included a 'lite version' of the original FSCargo for FS2004.You can run either separate, or both. If you have the FULL version of FSCargo you can also make your own cargo destinations (cargo areas) with the included 'editor'. That is NOT included in the Freight Dgs package. It has been awhile, but I believe there's an important update on the FSAddon site for FSCargo that you should download. We are now working on FSCargo for FSX (basically it runs, but we wanted to add more to it than before, and that will take a while more... currently in Beta). August 20, 200916 yr Author I JUST purchased and down loaded FS Cargo TWO days ago. Should not all of the current updates be in this new download?? ( I'm flying back to Seattle now. I'll check the FS Cargo version then.)I checked and my FS Cargo is version 1.2. Could you please advise me if this is the important update that you were talking about and that it is the latest update for this program? Thanks jerrycwo4
