August 19, 200916 yr I'm interested in landclass for Asia and the south Pacific. I can get it all, with Africa thrown in, for about US$15 from Cloud9. Or, I can buy a couple of packages from Scenery Tech. Is there anyone who has both that can compare?

Don't know about Asia/SoPac - hope others will chime in.Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
August 20, 200916 yr The scenerytech is not very accurate for Asia, but neither will the Cloud9 be. The raw data available for these countries is very limited. I think both are based on low-res satellite images. In parts of Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan, the FSX default is better than Scenerytech. China data is even worse.
August 20, 200916 yr I've been using Cloud 9 for several years as my base landclass. I tried Scenery Tech for Canada, but Cloud 9 did a far better job of representing the areas in southwestern BC which I am familiar with. I also use a lot of freeware custom landclasses which are usually very good as they are usually hand done by people for areas which they are personally familiar with. My vote would be for Cloud 9Regards Martin Martin Sims: MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 and X-plane 11 Home Airport: CYCW - Chilliwack, BC Canada i5 13600KF 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM, RTX3080TI Meta Quest 3

Or, I can buy a couple of packages from Scenery Tech. Is there anyone who has both that can compare? In most all areas, I find Cloud9 much better (and I have SceneryTech, Cloud9, and FSGenesis installed). That said, I have neither one of these areas. But based on the other areas I have, I know I would try Cloud9 first. You can have both, then switch each on or off within the scenery library. Thanks for the feedback. I see also that Cloud9 landclass is US$9, not 15.Yep, but SceneryTech is better in the SW States. As I mentioned, I have both, and will switch to SceneryTech when in Arizona, souther Nevada, etc. In most other States, Cloud9 seems much better.
August 21, 200916 yr I just bought the Cloud9; my initial impressions are posted here: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=258048.
August 21, 200916 yr Can Cloud 9 and FS Genesis co-exist? Do you manually have to turn one off in Scenery cfg? Thanks.Stan
August 21, 200916 yr Can Cloud 9 and FS Genesis co-exist? Do you manually have to turn one off in Scenery cfg?You can turn things on and off in the scenery LIBRARY (as well as scenery.cfg). Or, you can arrange the layers so that FSG or C9 takes priority.
