Wilco A340 hassles

Featured Replies

How can I get get the Wilco A330/340 thrust levers to respond to movements of the thrust control lever on my joystick. I have no problems with using the joystick thrust lever to control thrust on other aircraft but not on the Wilco airbus's. If I move the joystick thrust lever the Wilco airbus thrust levers don't move. But if I press the F3 key repeatedly thrust levers do move forward and then back if I press the F2 key repeatedly. So what is going on here? The Wilco manual is silent on any possible problems or hoops you have go through to get this to work. It just says that the thrust system works using the keyboard or a thrust device but that a thrust device is highly recommended. As things stand the only way I can control thrust is by using the standard keyboard settings (F1 - F4). I have a throttle lever on my CH Control yoke and I also have on on a thrustmaster joystick and neither of them work with the Wilco airbus's. Any suggestions appreciated.Bruceb

I am a little rusty on my Wilco Airbusses, but consider the possibility that they are designed to be operated by detents, not like a Boeing throttle. I seem to remember setting it up that way.

If that is the case why do the thrust levers move in response to input from the standard keyboard thrust commands ie F1 - F4? And why does the manual state that the thrust system can be controlled using a thrust controller and in fact it recommends that such a device be used "The autothrust system works properly if you control the throttle through the keyboard. Nevertheless, the use of a throttle device is highly recommended" Grateful for any Wilco A340 users to chime in here and provide some guidance.Bruceb

Part of the issue is that Wilco products were not made following the traditional FSX SDK, thus causing abnormal situations like this when external hardware was used with it.

search the old support forum -http://iemit.com/forumno longer open to posting, can be searchedif unable to find solution there (there are MULTIPLE threads in the old forum giving suggestion ... mostly that some custom FSUIPC setting can cause interference) post your question on the new forum -http://forum.iemit.comregistration required--

Try under FSUIPC,Axis assignment,Then enter each powerlever. This worked for the Wilco A-318 thru 321. I get movement, and the detent clicks.

I have tried using FSUIPC (registered) for axis assignment and calibration as this works with all my other aircraft but no luck, will post on the new Wilco forum (I didn't know they had one). I'm aware of the differences between Boeing and Airbus throttles and I was never able to use my joystick throttle lever with the PSS airbus but in this case the Wilco manual explicitly says you can so I would like to figure it out.Bruceb

wilco does not have a forum. feelThere provides a user forum.
joystick throttle lever with the PSS airbus
you cannot use a joystick with the PSS as their approach to simulate the gates was using the numberpad + and - keys.--
