FAQs and Troubleshooting for FS2Crew 2010: PMDG 737, Wilco feelThere 737 PIC and Default 737 Editions NOTAM: April 2nd, 2010. Please install SP1 Final. SP1 Final is not built into the main installer!!!PMDG 737 EDITION SPECIFICQuestion: I only own the PMDG 737 for the 600/700. Will this program work?Answer: FS2Crew 737 Voice works with the 900,800,700 and 600 models (in the VC and 2D cockpit), BUT you must also own the 800/900 version. In short, you must own ALL of the following PMDG 737 models: 900,800,700,600. If you ONLY only own the 600/700 models, then FS2Crew 737 Voice will not work with your setup.Question: I have the old FS2Crew 737 version released in 2004 installed, what should I do before installing the new 737 Voice version?Answer: Do a clean re-install of the PMDG 737 aircraft. Your PMDG 737 panel.cfg file should be "clean" before you install FS2Crew. Do not forget to install all PMDG updates including the Optional Models upgrade for the 800/900. That's important. Only install FS2Crew 737 Voice after your PMDG 737 has been updated with the latest PMDG Service Packs and updates.Question: I said "Heading 150", the autopilot is off, and yet the FO is not setting the heading in the MCP.Answer: Heading Select (Roll Mode) must be engaged for heading commands to take effect.Question: The (big) radio and throttle panels (not the mini-panel versions) are opening up and they're not closing.Answer: Re-enter the FS2Crew required key commands as per the list the below in your PMDG keyboard assignments menu. Question: I said "Speed 210", the autopilot is on, and yet the FO is not setting the heading in the MCP.Answer: Double check the manual to read how this works. We do it the realistic way. Remember that when the autopilot is ON, you as the Pilot Flying will set the MCP. You still have to announce what you're doing, however, and the FO will verbally confirm your action. If the autopilot is off, the FO/PNF will set the MCP as per your voice command. Question: Sometimes the FO is not flipping switches on the overhead as per his flow.Answer: Make sure your FS window is in focus, especially if you're using a multi-monitor setup. Another thing you can try is to make the overhead mini-panel used for the simulated mouse clicks 'bigger'. We're going to make the mini pop-up panel a bit bigger for you.Do this:1. Open the panel.cfg file for your PMDG 700 and 800 models.2. Find WINDOW 19. It will be near the bottom.[Window19]file=737NG_Overhead_Background_1280.bmpfile_1024=737NG_Overhead_Background_1280.bmpsize_mm=1280,960window_size_ratio=1.0position=8visible=0ident=1002window_size=0.200, 0.200 <---- WE'LL CHANGE THIS LINE!Change the highlighted line to:window_size = 0.400, 0.400That will make the mini-panel for the overhead panel bigger, and reduce the liklihood of the FO's simulated mouse click missing its mark. Question: The FO didn't set the autobrakes and he's not setting the MCP as per my voice commands.Answer: Make sure your PMDG keyboard assignments match those listed in the FS2Crew PMDG 737 Main Ops Manual. The FS2Crew installer will automatically replace your 737keyboard INI file with a version that includes the required FS2Crew assignments. It's possible that the PMDG 747/MD-11 installer may have corrupted your keyboard ini file. It's also possible that you had another window in focus that accept keyboard input that intercepted the key command FS2Crew sent to the PMDG 737 aircraft. Such windows could include the Squawkbox text entry windows, the default ATC window, or having the PMDG 737's FMC set to accept keyboard input. Question: I issued a MCP command, like Speed 210, and the FO started moving the heading or altitude value instead!Answer: Your PMDG 737 keyboard ini file was likely altered by the PMDG 747 or MD-11.You need to ensure that the required FS2Crew keyboard assignments for the PMDG 737 match up with the list below. To check your PMDG keyboard assignments, open the in game PMDG options menu after loading the PMDG 737 aircraft.MCP Press AT --- Ctrl+Shft+BMCP Press N1 --- Ctrl+Shft+GMCP Press SPD --- Ctrl+Shft+HMCP Press LVLCHG --- Ctrl+Shft+IMCP Press VNAV --- Ctrl+Shft+JMCP Press LNAV --- Ctrl+Shft+MMCP Press VORLOC --- Ctrl+Shft+NMCP Press APP --- Ctrl+Shft+OMCP Press HDGSEL --- Ctrl+HMCP Press ALTHLD --- Ctrl+Shft+PMCP Press VS --- Ctrl+PMCP Press CMD L --- Ctrl+Shft+AMCP Press FD L --- Ctrl+Shft+FMCP Increase Course --- Ctrl+Shft+KMCP Decrease Course --- Ctrl+KMCP Increase Altitude --- Ctrl+IMCP Decrease Altitude --- Ctrl+UMCP Increase Speed --- Ctrl+TMCP Decrease Speed --- Ctrl+YMCP Increase Heading --- Shft+HMCP Decrease Heading --- Ctrl+Shft+XMCP Increase VS --- Ctrl+Shft+WMCP Decrease VS --- Ctrl+Shft+RMCP Set TOGA --- Ctrl+DMCP Press SPD INTV --- Ctrl+Shft+UMCP Press ALT INTV --- Shft+UAutobrakes Increase Pos --- Ctrl+Shft+YAutobrakes Decrease Pos --- Ctrl+Shft+VWILCO FEELTHERE 737 PIC EDITION SPECIFIC Question: I use Windows 7 64. I clicked the RMI gauge and nothing happened. No FS2Crew panel opened.Answer: Your panel.cfg file for the 737 PIC model you loaded was probably not updated with the required FS2Crew window and gauge entries. We've found that under select circumstances the FS2Crew installer is not automatically updating the panel.cfg files all the time for some Win 7 64 users. We have since identified the cause of this and will be updating the installer soon. However, the quick fix is to copy over your 737 PIC's panel.cfg files with the backup FS2Crew modified panel.cfg files located in <root FS folder> FS2Crew 2010VersionsB737WilcoFS2Crew Version Panel CFGsDEFAULT 737 EDITION SPECIFIC Question: I just installed FS2Crew for the 737. I loaded the 737 and I don't see anything.Answer: Left click the Flap Indicator gauge in either the 2D or VC cockpit. If nothing happens, check the panel.cfg file for the 737 and ensure there are FS2Crew window and gauge entries on it. Question: I'm using the VC, and moving the Start Levers on the pedestal seem to have no effect. Also, the FO is not moving the Start Switches in the VC. Answer: The default FSX 737 is not perfect. It has some minor issues. One of them is that if using the VC, you'll need to open the 2D pedestal panel by pressing SHIFT + 4, and moving the fuel levers from there during Engine Start and Shutdown. For the Start Levers, it's the same. The FO will move them in the 2D cockpit, but not in the VC. It's a Microsoft bug.Question: My landing lights are not working.Answer: They are working, but in the default 737, Microsoft mislabeled the light switches. They reversed the labeling on the overhead. So ON is OFF and OFF is actually ON. Question: I'm using the VC, and moving the Start Levers on the pedestal seem to have no effect. Also, the FO is not moving the Start Switches in the VC. In fact, it skipped directly to Approach.Answer: Use Saved Situation Files with extreme caution; in fact, I generally recommend not using them. Saved Situation Files can cause problems with FS addons. During beta testing, we found that if you load a Saved Situation file, and then reset the Flight, that it will cause an adverse affect on the simulation such as described above.Question: I can't hear the cabin PA's.Answer: On the FS2Crew Main Panel, mouse over the CAB button. Using your scroll wheel, spin the scroll wheel up a few times. That will adjust the volume up. A dot will appear over the CAB button if the FA Cabin PA volume is NOT zero.Basically, the Cabin PA's always play. You can't turn them on or off. All you can do is adjust the volume of them.Question: I commanded the FO to set the Speed to 210. He didn't do anything.Answer:Was the autopilot ON or OFF?This is how it works:Generally, as in real-world flying, when the Autopilot is OFF, the Pilot Monitoring will set the autopilot as per the Pilot Flying

Q.What about users of a non-english Windows XP (Home) ?Are we able to use Voice Commander ?
Yes! For XP users, just make sure your Speech Recognizer is set to English. Also, for XP users only: You may or may not already have the SAPI 5.1 speech engine installed on your computer.(If you have Vista or Win 7, SAPI 5.3 is already pre-built into your OS, so do NOT download the SAPI engine if you own Vista or Win 7)Here's how to check if you have Speech Recognition installed in XP:1. Go to your Control Panel2. Select Sound, Speech and Audio Devices3. Click the Speech icon to open the Speech Properties dialogue4. If you do not have a Speech Recognition tab in the Speech Properties window, then the SAPI (Speech Recognition) engine is not installed, and you have to install it by clicking this link.5. Make sure the Recognizer is set to English.Do NOT forget to run the Voice Training for your Profile!!!!(Personally, I recommend everyone upgrade to Windows 7, even if it's just the RC. I'm using Win 7 64 Bits, and it works fantastic.)Hope that helps,

Dear Mr. Byorn,Let me first tell you what a GREAT software you managed to create! I simply LOVE it! AMAZING!! All is left to do is a way how to make the FO land the plane as well and then there wont be any distinction between real world airline and FS ;)I bought the software about 3 days ago and it works brilliantly (Windows XP, FS9). The only problem I have is that when I try to call for ground in order to start pushback, there is no reply. To be honest with you I tried it in airports with AES but I still choose NO on the AES tab in the configuration panel but nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks and keep it up! You are really putting the FS world closer to reality!RegardsIan

Hi Ian,Glad to hear you love it!Your problem is likely that the "MODE" as display in the Main Panel was not set to START CREW/ ENG STThat's a necessary condition. Also, here's the Start Crew phrases the speech system is listening for:Start Crew Pushback Required Cockpit to ground Ground from cockpit We

Hi Bryan,I wonder why we are forst to buy all models of the PMDG 737, to use this great program of yoursregards ,Rob J.Holland
Hi Rob,Because the 600/700 only version (non 800/900/600/700) is different in many ways from the version that has all the models, and it gets too complex to try to create two different versions to account for the differences. That and the fact the vast majority who would buy FS2Crew would own the 800/900/600/700 models as they are generally more enthusiast users.Best,

Question: I am using on-line ATC like VATSIM or IVAO. How can I temporary disable speech recognition while I'm talking to on-line ATC?Answer: Click the VOICE button on the Main Panel to toggle speech recognition ON/OFF.
Dear sir,I am a "hardcore" pilot, flying on Vatsim and Ivao. I can tell you that it is not enough time to push the voice button on the Main Panel, when it is trafic and it is a must to respond on the spot to the aircontroller. I suggest to take into account the posibility to assign a keyboard shortcut to this action. WE (Ivao and Vatsim pilots) DESPERATE NEED this keyboard function. In fact if this functon can be assigned by USER to a keyboard button is all what we dream, because if I transmit voice to CTRL key to the controller the SAME key would be superb to cut the voice input for FS2Crew.I bought your product (PMDG-737NG, XP, FS2004) and works very well, congratulations for your achievement.I am looking forward for a response from you.Best regards and thank you for the product,Cristian Radulescu, structural engineer, 40y old.

SP1 has the 'mute' button you want. It'll be out soon.Best,

Hello Bryan,I am using the FS2Crew default 737 Voice Commander with a full-size, B737 Cockpit Simulator, Project Magenta Software and hardware by Flightdeck Solutions, and I need a way to push the FA button (on the FS2Crew Main Panel) by the use of a keyboard command or joystick button. If it could be a keyboard command (it would be better), I can then use FSUIPC to keysend and thereby, assign the FA to the ATTEND button on the FWD Overhead. Maybe, you could make this possible via the FS2CrewInputMapper.cfg, as that would be easiest. In fact, I now got the PTT for Squawkbox and SoftMute for FS2Crew assigned to the PTT Button on the Yoke, via FSUIPC and the FS2CrewInputMapper.cfg and it works great...Thank you for helping, as well as developing an awesome program!John Combsblueskydriver
