well, this thread seems to have attracted as much interest as the other thread we were chatting in, which is great news, and as edetriot has now attested, there seems to be a lot more folks using nHancer now that before. This hopefully now realises peoples new perspective at how nice FS9.1 can look and perform.I have one more point that I would like some help on though, and that is the scenery drawing / viewingThe only thing left now is a small rather annoying issue with the ground scenery display coming in to view.I have had it looking very nice and smoooth before the format. I have been kicking my own a** since then because the FS9.1 cfg file was missed on the back-up.I am trying to get it to load slightly faster, and to be more "in focus" that it is right now. I use a registered latest version of FSUIPC, and have set the display / sight distance to 55nm.I know for example, than one of the two sets of figures below alter this scenery display thingie, as I have had it set before, but I just can't for the life of me remember which one it is that sets the scenery focus range. Here are the two sets of figures that I am referring to.TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000 < Not sure if it is one of these threeTERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.90000 < or if it is one of these three insteadTERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4I have the scenery coming into view okay, but it loks kind of blurred and out of focus about 15-20 miles from me, but I did fix this before, but just can't remember which one it is, or which combination it was.Any thoughts would be very welcome guy's.

Steve.

Well I have gone from one very happy guy to one very sad guy. I had everything running so well on my new rig....just got it to the level where I was ready to try making a video on my new system.I had one more final and fatal thought......I wonder if there are any new drivers for the 285 card?. There was...I installed them and bang that was it!. Nhancer would no longer work with the card.!It says there is an error in the nvapps xml file.Needless to say I have been pulling my hair out for the best part of the day. :(

The 190 driver set is appalling on FS9 with the GTX 285 and it isn't compatible with nHancer, I've got the same card. Download 'Driver Sweeper', uninstall your current driver set, reboot, run Driver Sweeper to clean it of your current drivers, reboot, download and install the driver set 186.18. You can find 186.18 on Guru3D.com.

Thankyou very much for the advice. After many hours I managed to get the 190.38 drivers back (which do work with Nhancer) the latest 190.62 do not.I was actually trying to cure a slight crackling noise from my X-Fi sound card. I may try the 186.18 set once I have had a good nights rest and calmed down a bit. :(

Hi Ed.No, the 190.38 drivers work just fine with FS9.1, but you need the New Beta version of nHancer, then just set all up as before. Trust me it works. Here's the link for the New Beta. http://forum.nhancer.com/showpost.php?p=44...mp;postcount=18

Hey Ed,If it ever happens again scroll down to post # 6 for a quick fix... It is a pleasure to be able to help someone who has contributed so much over the years!http://forum.nhancer.com/showthread.php?t=444Also, I recommend the 182.50 for right now, still the most stable of the nvidia drivers for me but haven't tried the latest with the new NHancer Beta...Now we just need to get you into the VC of your heavy iron with a TrackiR5 :( :( -Paul

The 190s work in FS9, but the performance, at least for me and a plethora of other people I know, is abysmal compared to the performance with the 186.18s and the 182.50s.

Thanks for the tip on the new beta nHancer. My GTX295 now running sweet on the new drivers.

Paul,I just upgraded to a GTX260, which means I now have a very similar system to yours in all respects. Frame rates are awesome, but I am getting some small stutters in windowed mode. Would you mind posting the display section of your FS9.cfg file for comparison? Specifically interested in the texture_bandwidth_mult and texturemaxload (if you are using it) values. Thanks in advance.

Hey Z... I am not in front of the computer right now but I believe my texture_bandwidth_mult is 200 and TextrueMaxLoad is 10 but I am still on the fence with the benefits of that one...I will try to post when I am home again,-PaulFunniest part is now that FS is running so amazing I am barely flying... You EU guys might know the Yamaha TMAX but they are pretty new to the states and I just got one. 600 miles later in a week and boy my butt is sore but you can't wipe the smile from my face :) I alsmot hope it isn't so nice and sunny here one day so I am forced to stay in and sim LOL

I just wanted to add something to this topic, although I am still an old 8800GT user.I tested 192.38 and 192.62 drivers, and still, my old and trusty 182.50 prove to be better. I get both higher FPS (between 2 and 5% more) and less stuttering with older drivers, you go figure. There is newest beta2 Nhancer version supporting latest drivers, but I still reverted to 182s.

Thanks Paul! Your settings were quite a bit higher than mine. So I bumped them up and it did smooth out some. I've also moved to the 186.18 drivers, which appears to have eliminated the remaining stutter. Enjoy your new ride :(
